Problem is, this description won't take you just 30 seconds, throw the fact that not for everyone hate English is native language in the mix and it becomes a problem.

@imtheq Alt texts are useful not only to visually impaired, but to those who browse Fedi using TUI (text only) software, myself included. I like alt texts and I do my best for all images I post to have them, but I don't think that descriptions you can spend 30 seconds on are fun to read for visually impaired.
I'll be okay with something like "two cute cats chilling on a heated rug" — I know it's a cute cat picture and if I'm in the mood for that, I can run an external viewer…

@sneak Thanks for reminding me of NMH. I used to find them interesting, but when everyone was into indie and later post-rock, they had received so much attention that I grew into almost hating them. By now I don't even remember what for 😅

Best practice for all lithium batteries. I have a ThinkPad battery from 2005 still at 77% of it's original capacity. How? I just stored it charged at 40%. It's amazing how much longer they last if you take proper care of them.
There are a lot more problems with EV batteries, still an important thing to keep in mind.

@gordoooo_z Mine was mostly sitting on the table collecting dust, until I gave it to my then girlfriend who was ruthless to it. She even managed to lose all the screws on the bottom but three. I don't know how she did that, she's a talented girl. I got it back and revived it recently, replacing all the screws, I've been using it almost daily for a few months since then and no screw ever got lose 😂
Anyway, feet/pads on mine are good as new — still useless, don't know why they even put them there.
