@DotardTed @obihahn @NoBeret If I remember correctly, the battery packs for Tesla’s and similar all-electric cars are very large and usually encompass the entire undercarriage. Battery technology and storage is still very inefficient and no one is making great strides. I think electric vehicle adoption will be an abject failure.

Best practice for all lithium batteries. I have a ThinkPad battery from 2005 still at 77% of it's original capacity. How? I just stored it charged at 40%. It's amazing how much longer they last if you take proper care of them.
There are a lot more problems with EV batteries, still an important thing to keep in mind.

I agree with you, it's the most convenient option after all. And who wouldn't want their car full at the start of every day?
Oh yeah, the people who want it to last more than 100,000 miles?
If you really wanna go there, (I don't), the best bang for the buck would be to refurb a hybrid with a cheap aftermarket replacement pack. You should make it just in time for them to start charging you by the mile for EV mileage taxes! 😉🤣
What a scam!
@m0xee @DotardTed @obihahn @NoBeret The average (and most) US consumer is stupid and ignorant of things that actually affect their lives. I would be willing to bet actual money that 80%+ of EV owners charge their cars every night and try to keep them at 100%. That is why the cars will be “disposable”.
