@DotardTed
> Macron’s ‘Strategic Autonomy’
The guy who was calling Putin and listening to bullshit about NATO for hours? He definitely has some bright ideas! 🤣
From the article: Macron told POLITICO and French newspaper Les Echos that Europe had to limit its dependency on the United States and avoid getting pulled into "crises that are not ours."
Who's going to bail you out of crises that are yours then? OMG why European leaders are such a goddamn disgrace?

@enduser@berserker.town TBH it happened to me a lot, even with the movies that I grew to like later. For example Fight Club — like WTF, they are making soap, why should that be interesting? Later I was introduced to Jung's archetypes and so maybe Tyler was a representation of protagonist's shadow, maybe the girl didn't exist either and was his Anima — these theories made the movie a whole lot more enjoyable to watch 😅

@enduser@berserker.town I was pretty close to that. Of course I knew that the Matrix was some sort of VR, but the fact that there was war against machines or that people are used as power source either didn't make it to me during all these years or have been well forgotten.
I did try watching it several times when it just came out, but I always found it boring for some reason so I never finished it.

@sneak Wasn't it originally supposed to be a part of that concept album about disorders that was never finished, but most tracks from which were later released as Artifakts [bc]?

@enduser@berserker.town The 4th one does overuse some plot devices, but original trilogy did that too. A lot! Some tech works differently, their costumes look different, but a few decades have passed in the fictional universe too so there is nothing wrong with that. And no one was wearing leather trench-coats in late 90-ies early 2000s either, it did look weird too, but everyone considered it cool, there is nothing uncool about how characters look in the 4th movie either. A solid sequel!

@enduser@berserker.town I don't get why many dislike the 3rd movie — worthy conclusion of that line IMO, battles and the machine city look impressive, 2nd one was a bit boring maybe, but I suspect the action sequences had been looking way more impressive when it it came out than what they are now, but no biggie, it expands the lore and is still nice. What I didn't like about the 1st one is that romance kinda springs at you out of nowhere — it doesn't feel properly built up, not the worst example of it either.

@neural_meduza Ну смазка… и сами игрушки. Импортозамещение 🤷

@enduser@berserker.town I think the same. Have not watched the original trilogy before so I don't have any nostalgia, watched all four recently, I'm probably too old to be too impressed by such stuff, but fourth movie isn't any different — it's an okay sequel. True, it is a very commercial product (like the original three weren't, huh?), but there is nothing bad about it.

@DotardTed I'm the least likely candidate for that, but yeah, there are a lot of reasons it's unsafe to stay here, probably a good time to evacuate.

@DotardTed Another important thing: they've removed all the requirements for signing contract with the military, they can now coerce the 17 year olds into this. And that, I think, is exactly the demographics they are targeting with this. People who have actual military experience or at least received some training don't want to have anything to do with this anymore — there are hundreds of cases of reservists deserting in courts. Inexperienced youngsters on the other hand can be forced into it.

@PawelK
This "does not drink vodka" point always cracks me up. They told us the same thing about Muslims, but my observation is that when they live in Russia long enough, they start drinking vodka alright! And if they come from Central Asia, they are way worse than Russians at it as they have less tolerance to alcohol. I see migrants buying vodka at supermarkets all they time and I don't even go out that often 😂
@don @Renegade_GDI@mastodon.world

@Phileosopher Makes sense, except usually it's not exactly a pile of money, more like funds invested into various financial instruments, some of which do not lose 15% of its value — that's why it's diversified in the first place, and they can always pull out of what loses value to invest more into what doesn't — it's not their last money, they are way more flexible with my it than most. It does not mean you're wrong, but it's not that simple.

@neural_meduza
«Чтобы не мучились»,— гласит решение.

@neural_meduza А в Томске поменьше — но по три рубля.

@neural_meduza Т.н. сталинские тройки тысяч рублей.

@neural_meduza Вряд ли. Никогда ещё не помогало.

@sazanlip
Определённо! Но почему по химии? 🤔

> Why did I get vaccinated twice if I'm still this bad?
Personally I think that vaccines they gave us don't work too well.
When vaccination started I was afraid to go to the hospital — higher chance getting COVID there than sitting at home. Over a year passed, I still wear an FFP3 grade respirator outside and use alcohol on everything I bring in, never got COVID and never got vaccinated — don't see the point anymore.

Get well soon!
