@urusan The only way to overcome xenophobia is to increase standards of living by reducing inequality. Making education and healthcare accessible and affordable also helps. Of course the wealthy are against that and often exploit the xenophobia of the poor.

@urusan Original skinheads, whom alt-right appropriate elements of culture from, "trads" (Spirit of 69 and all that) weren't racist. They were working class British lads friendly with Black Jamaicans as they were working in the same docks. They've appreciated the same Reggae and Ska music, but it all changed.

@urusan Being poor and being xenophobic often go hand in hand. It's a primitive survival mechanism that kicks in when you don't feel safe and being poor in most cases makes you feel unsafe/insecure. Of course there are exceptions, but that is what I meant when I was calling xenophobia natural.
I can elaborate on xenophobia in my country, how people are brought up with "defeating fascism", but are extremely xenophobic in daily life if you're OK with my multipart posts.

@urusan It's not the way I see it, it's the train of thought of an average low-income white male the way I see it. I'm left of the center myself and I'm not even a US citizen, I live in a country with even more flawed society. Yes, that one😩
So it's just how I see it from a distance. It may look superficial because it is. Let us not forget that this person is most probably poorly educated and has to work all day, he's tired and has little time to look into the details.

@urusan What do you mean Trump buried his wife on golf field for tax evasion? He's a hard-working man and deserves being able to do that, I'd tax-evade myself if I could.
Also these lefties just protest all day to support quotas instead of working like us, living off welfare (also our $$$) — they are enemies too!
And they want to take away our guns and let women have abortions so we get replaced with migrants. Mix all of that and shake really well — there, you have it😅

@urusan Ooh! That's an easy one — natural xenophobia. Treating outsiders with suspicion was important for survival at a certain point so it's sitting there buried deep even in the most intelligent ones. Throw in a couple of slogans about minorities being supported with your taxes, your hard-earned wages. Also they take your children's place thanks to racial quotas and your kids won't get anything because of inheritance tax — funds will be spent on minorities, remember?

@urusan I've used a group account in the past. Each member of that group had the credentials to log in. Just a weird measure to preserve anonymity on mainstream social media.
It wasn't explicitly stated anywhere that it was a group account though, it had a "real" name and a fake biography so it was hilarious at times 😂
