There are a few satellite images circulating online of waste containers very similar to the ones they've brought in from Germany last year just dumped in the forest. So it might be a coverup to make eco-activists protest less.

I won't put my money on it, but I've seen it a lot: take recent article in The Economist on how Russian economy isn't doing that bad (I live here I can see exactly how it's doing, Economist for chrissake!🤦) or the article in Nature about the efficacy of Sputnik vaccine — it still didn't undergo proper testing…

Proper strategy IMO is to ignore it. Feminism per se isn't the problem, this kind of overcompensation is. It will balance out given time and this kind of harassment will die out if it receives no attention 🤷

I know what you're talking about, but going to war with this kind of "feminism" is still wrong because once you go down that rabbit hole you start doing exactly what they are doing, you start interacting only with woman like them as if other women who aren't into that do not exist, but they do and there are lots of them.

@kotik It is true, but I don't think it's the main reason anymore. Even in Russia early anime fans are already in their forties, in Japan, from what I know, birth rate is in decline, population grows older and the age of an average fan goes higher with it. The demand for older characters is most certainly there!
My weird theory goes is that they use it as a justification for characters having to much time to spare, not doing their 9 to 5 instead 🤭

@thor Mine counts both! And they also treat calls to other regions of Russia differently from your "home" region, sometimes it costs extra. What?! Right! 🤪
But I hardly use my cellphone and switched to "free" plan so I had been paying nothing and was only paying for calls I actually make. My carrier didn't like me not spending money just because time passes by and offered me a hidden plan that you can't pick yourself. It's 100 mins and 2Gb for less than $2 monthly for me now and I like that.

I have Joyce's works in Russian in three tomes, the first one is Dubliners and Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, the second contains most of Ulysses, the third one has last chapers of Ulysses and about half of it if not more than half is about how the translation was made and notes.
It was one hell of a tough job especially with something as linguistically complex as Ulysses, but the translation does feel natural.

Nah, it's not that easy. One of the machines I'm using is an old MacMini. It has G4 CPU which itself is 32-bit. I still have this box and it hosts transmission-daemon, nitter instance, web proxy and a few other services. I sometimes use it as an access point for 802.11b devices not to mess with my router.
I should probably replace it with something more energy-efficient ARM-based, but I have too much on my plate right now to do that.

Not that I'm against GNU, but I do run musl flavour of Void almost universally and I do use clang/llvm where applicable, but I'm not ready to drop GNU userland completely.
Maybe Chimera will make it easier for me. Daniel (the one behind VoidPPC and Chimera) hasn't decided yet whether he wants to support 32-bit PPC. PowerPC machines are my main concern right now, but there are no images yet. I should probably try building rootfs myself and see if it suits me.

Ha-ha, yeah Daniel is very eager to drop everything GNU in Chimera, I think he even managed to get rid of binutils!
How's the system in general, did you check it out? AFAIK he's going to give up maintaining Void PowerPC port starting 2023 and it looks like it's a nice migration path for me.

@oklomsy True, all these databases are meant to be leaked. The idea of keeping record of everything might seem appealing, like keeping all your e-mail messages on the server forever — you'll never lose them and they are accessible from anywhere, but it's wise not to do so.

@inference You can probably disable the uname syscall altogether when building kernel and it probably even makes sense from security standpoint, but again it'll probably break some scripts. If even android and openwrt have it, why shouldn't we? 🤔
