@lrhodes Good luck with that!
With Fedi I make a lot of exceptions from my usual ways, but I'm still too paranoid to use my real photo 😅

Anime fans often ignore character's age because there is a strong high-school bias. I've had a theory that life in Japan grows too dull as you grow older — probably bullshit, but not completely ungrounded. Even if they drive giant robots or use superpowers to defeat hellbound creatures, they are still high-schoolers, often they don't act like ones and look way above their age, but school is still a part of the setting 🤷
There are shows about grown-ups of course, but not too many.

Should I select all squares that have cats in them or what? 😹

Yep, same here with Nichijou — I know this show has everything I enjoy, but I can't watch it. Maybe because I expect different kind of thing from KyoAni🤷
DogaKobo on other hand are undisputed champions of this genre, beside the cult classic that is YuruYuri, almost every other show by them is superb: GJ Bu, Love Lab, GabDro, Umaru…
> Asobi Asobase
Oh, yes! Thanks for reminding me of it! It had been in my to watch list since it came out, looks like I even have it downloaded😁

I agree, it is in the vein of Nichijou. I usually enjoy shows like that: Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku, Joshiraku and even Yuyushiki — basically girls doing nothing, cracking abstract jokes. But I couldn't watch Nichijou for some reason, I did like Wooser though, maybe because the episodes are really short.
And yes, protagonists' funeral is a running joke. I've scrubbed through 3 episodes looking for a perfect niku moment, and they've buried him two times already 🤣

@hj
In fact, they make a four-piece band in the show, but it has only bass players in it so, as you can imagine, it doesn't work so well 😂

Ha-ha-ha-ha! Yes, them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9BGLtqqkVI

Indeed it is! The characters look way different in the show 😄
The show itself is full of absurd jokes, but fun: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wooser_no_Sono_Higurashi
@thor I had been too lazy to assemble and decorate it for quite a few years, but it used to. And I used to have cats way less tame than the ones I have now — still not interested. I also wasn't aware that you can scare a cat with cucumber — an ex-colleague showed me that and he was surprised I have cats and didn't know that. Maybe something's wrong with my cats after all 🤷

And have their app! Or an account on some website you won't otherwise need, feck 😩
@lanodan
@thor Are cats really attracted to Christmas trees? I've had cat all my life and none of them had any interest in them at all. I only see this as memes online and I still think it's funny, but sometimes I'm inclined to think it's a conspiracy theory 😼
@neural_meduza Нейронка пробует себя в жанре true crime 😆
@tuppaware I'm still using one of the LEDs on my laptop as SSD activity indicator. And NumLock for wireless activity! Call me old-fashioned 😁
@neural_meduza А также полусладкий и брют!
@cafkafk
And they've even started using numbers! HTTP/3 — come on, what's that?! 🫠
@iitalics@octodon.social
@sinistrist Anthrax spores could've uploaded such a video. Well, maybe not in 3 minutes, but… 😏
@mjdxp So you just want to work with filesystem without mounting it? Hm-m-m…🤔

One of the core principles Gentoo was built upon 🤣
@thor An interesting thought, but I think the concept of protocol isn't that hard to understand, it was just lost to non-techies in the process of Web 2.0 centralization — like everything is an "app", if you want to reach me, use that app — it's the same on every platform, but you can't use a different app. In the late nineties, early 2000s everyone was sending e-mails using different software for that and it wasn't hard to grasp at all 🤷
None
Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
