"Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the built up [sic] of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), which have been baked numerous times."

What?

@coolboymew
Indeed it is! The characters look way different in the show 😄
The show itself is full of absurd jokes, but fun: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wooser_n

@anime @m0xee

>Danny Choo

That's a name I haven't heard in a decade
@coolboymew @m0xee He is still alive and he's making the same dolls.

@hj
In fact, they make a four-piece band in the show, but it has only bass players in it so, as you can imagine, it doesn't work so well 😂

I agree, it is in the vein of Nichijou. I usually enjoy shows like that: Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku, Joshiraku and even Yuyushiki — basically girls doing nothing, cracking abstract jokes. But I couldn't watch Nichijou for some reason, I did like Wooser though, maybe because the episodes are really short.
And yes, protagonists' funeral is a running joke. I've scrubbed through 3 episodes looking for a perfect niku moment, and they've buried him two times already 🤣
@coolboymew

@m0xee @anime Nichijou got me to drop it ep 1, but great reccs for Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku. If you enjoy that try Asobi Asobase. Don't let the OP change your mind, the OP is a filthy lie

@coolboymew
Yep, same here with Nichijou — I know this show has everything I enjoy, but I can't watch it. Maybe because I expect different kind of thing from KyoAni🤷
DogaKobo on other hand are undisputed champions of this genre, beside the cult classic that is YuruYuri, almost every other show by them is superb: GJ Bu, Love Lab, GabDro, Umaru…
> Asobi Asobase
Oh, yes! Thanks for reminding me of it! It had been in my to watch list since it came out, looks like I even have it downloaded😁
@anime

@m0xee @coolboymew I cannot stand some parts of the Nichijou, like the princess in the airship skit. But the ep16 was brilliant - it's the one where Nano goes to school. Sadly the Principal vs Deer is far more popular with memelords: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7Et0a8fnuw
@anime @m0xee What got me hating Nichijou hard on ep 1 is that there's plenty of scenes that are just weird with no jokes and that killed my interest badly
@m0xee @coolboymew I should note that it's noticed by many, but Yuyushki had absolutely astonishing, unseen before animation. It somehow slid unnoticed. Now that years have passed I only remember the transparent ears, but I assure you that there was much more.
@m0xee @anime GJ Bu was pure love. One of my first seasonal clubroom BS SOL. Not only the show has an ending, but then the OVA comes and it has a DOUBLE ENDING, and a FANTASTIC one at that

Immensely fucking pissed that there's no BD releases

Also random fact while I'm there, the Kitabu BD seems to be missing an ED theme from what I've seen, no idea why
@coolboymew @m0xee I liked Gj bu overall, although I would not say it grabbed me. IIRC it ran in the same season with AIURA and that latter was more popular despite literally having next to no content, with 3-minute episodes.

@anime
I enjoyed both! I didn't realize Aiura was popular, it is good! The episodes ARE short, but it's so grotesque and fun 😆
Another title worth mentioning and that is considered underrated by me is Kyo no Go no Ni — it's more like Ichigo Mashimarou and Minami-ke, but it's great!
@coolboymew

@coolboymew
Oh! I knew there must be a reason I keep both, the BD rip and the TV one, and it must be it!
@anime

@m0xee @anime The ED is Hanabi I believe? I once went to get BD eps just for the ED and I saw that it was missing from the ep

@coolboymew
I don't remember GJ Bu too well, but I did like that too! It looks like a finished product, which is pretty rare.
@anime

@m0xee @anime it's rare in anime, it's even rarer for comedy/SOL stuff, and not just 1 ending, TWO endings. That's nuts on so many levels

@coolboymew
Yes, it's especially rare with comedy, you leave the end open so you can always pick off right where you left it. Not that I'm against it — it's always sad to let the beloved characters go, but that's what makes having an ending so beautiful.
Darker stuff does often happen to have a logical conclusion, but you always have a plot device or two up your sleeve so you can resurrect everyone. Shinbo even managed to pull that off with Madoka, he's a producer down to the bone 🤣
