@thor My naming convention is either something long and descriptive — what atmosphere does it give off, or, rather what I had in mind conceiving it, or… Autechre-style — a random string of alphanumeric characters.
Sometimes it's something in-between though, this is where thing start getting weird.
I also do preserve all the versions of track and if I add some more musical material, I append "+" to name, if I made it sound better I add "=", so it gets to smth like sand_world_762be_rain==+==++= 🤣

@thor This pissed me of since the web became what it is today. Even Live recording a couple of analog channels, a couple of MIDI-synths, applying FX and mixing in real-time doesn't spin the fans as much as Safari with a dozen of open tabs. Since then a lot of techniques were implemented in web browsers like unloading of unused tabs, but it's still a problem, that's insane! 🤪

Mastodon shower thought

@Paradox Хех, ну понятно, что не любые! Я имел в виду разные антидепрессанты, где эти самые бензольные кольца обычно присутствуют. К моему удивлению, даже в 5-HTP они есть. Впрочем, почему к удивлению? 🤭
@Rezard

@frostygoth
Oh, if you were asking about what this particular patch does — I just don't know, it's a random picture off the InterWebs that looks scary enough 😅
@DeveloperMemes

@frostygoth
Max/MSP — a visual language for Digital Signal Processing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_(sof
It's mostly used for working with audio — making synths, filters/FX. It's tightly integrated with popular music production software Ableton Live, although it comes as a separate component. There is a library facilitating working with video, but I've never dived into that.
Oh, yes, it has a free alternative known as PureData/Pd: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pure_Dat
@DeveloperMemes

@niconiconi Bit fields in C kinda make some structures self-descriptive, but yeah, good comment will never do harm 😅

PlayerUnknown's Flowering Meadows is pretty good too!

@Erik @thor Damn!
This thread looks so useful. Unlike the neighbouring ones. But it's broken 😭

@Rezard Ещё можно радоваться жизни, употребляя внутрь препараты, содержащие бензольные кольца. Принцип «ты то, что ты ешь» справедлив как никогда 🤣

The Red one? Or the opposite of it? Blue Alert? 🤔

@yogthos Yeah, I get it. The October Revolution was important for Bolsheviks, but it was not what ended the monarchy, this was: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February
The Bolsheviks weren't the only acting power and not even the only socialist power. I think that this is a very important detail that is often overlooked or somehow diminished in the Soviet history, while the importance of October events is overblown 🤷

@thor True, there was no use for that. Panning and FX were done on mixer's side.
This approach to stereo — when you put certain instruments at a particular position on the scene: guitar goes here, bass goes here… sounds a bit cringe nowadays 😅

@yogthos That's true!
I am left-leaning myself, but as the one born in the Soviet Union, I can't stand some parts of the Soviet mythos, The Great October Revolution is one of those. It makes it look like Bolsheviks were the only power responsible for stripping the Tsar of his powers — it's simply not true. The Left would sound way more credible if they stopped pushing it. The article may look biased because of that headline, while in fact it isn't — that was my point.

@volpeon My instance doesn't even support direct messages, let alone E2EE encrypted ones 🤣

@yogthos It wasn't workers revolution that overthrown the tsar, he was already not in power. They've overthrown the interim government. Other than that, the article seems neutral and nice. At least it's not whitewashing Stalin, who brought all the tsarist practices back, including the new serfdom, so the workers and especially the peasants got the worst of both worlds.
But yeah, White Terror is just as real as the Red one.

@neglesaks@mstdn.io Exactly!
Even though I never had Twitter account, the fact that I could read it without one, made me consider having an account. If there was a way to do so without giving them my phone number, I'd probably do that.
With Facebook/Instagram I've never even had a thought. If someone sends me a link to FB/Insta, I just ignore that 🤭
