@mwt Yep, it's a pretty good alternative if you are too lazy to self host (like me). Like I said in other comment, I don't use web interface and mostly use hyrdoxide or protonmail-bridge to access it, but I like it in every possible way.
They get a lot of hate for giving info on some activist to the police, but they only disclosed his IP-address per Swiss law and that guy didn't even use VPN. I don't know, it doesn't seem THAT bad to me 🤷

My e-mail client is ssh to mutt on a computer that runs fetchmail, procmail and hydroxide (to access ProtonMail in sane way).
Maybe I should get rid of this shit and just self host — I don't know, I'm too lazy for that.
I'm cautious not to step on that slippery slope because I know it'll get down to hosting my Matrix server and Mastodon instance 😅
@dem32@mstdn.starnix.network

@safiuddinkhan@fosstodon.org I used ProtonVPN and got ProtonMail at a promotional discount. It's good, now I use it as my domains' mail. They used to have an account in Fedi, but abandoned that in favour of Twitter — really dumb move on their side IMO 🤷

I think it's MSKFA in this case:
MicroSoft windows product Key + Full Activation 😂
@robby @kzimmermann

@deidara I'll translate it for you:
— Can I buy it separately, without the cat?
— Put on the mask, I don't want to be held responsible
— What do you mean, without the cat?!

@deidara This is my personal favourite. I'm not sure it's authentic — it looks so funny! What happened there? 😅
There is a meme based on this painting that kind of explains it, but it's in Russian.

@fredlinhares I have a feeling something's off with body proportions in this picture. I'm not sure what it is and it kind of makes her look sexier 🤪

@cwb
If there is an option to customize it I:
1) Spend too much time on it
2) End up with no UI or almost no UI 😂
Like this: social.librem.one/web/statuses
Even the ones who use sway usually have some nice things like CPU load, or free RAM indicators on the panel, but I'm usually like: "Do I really need that? If I want to know, I'll run top anyway"
Even that clock and charge level is a shell script that runs date and cat on a file in /proc every minute and adds emoji

I did that once: I've switched from Mac OS X to Windows 8, but Microsoft ruined what seemed like a promising UI with time. In fact, pre-release Windows 8 was the best, when there was no Start button at all, since then it was rolling downhill IMO. Dark mode for File Explorer in Windows 11 is nice, I like new Window management presets, that thing that appears when you hover over Maximize in window header, but everything else looks like Windows XP to me, meh 🤢

@utopify_org
Matrix: gomuks — hands down, the best TUI-client
Gemini: amfora
Mastodon: gomphothereum or tut
E-mail: mutt (+fetchmail + procmail + msmtp + w3m for HTML messages)
Web: we are doomed 😩
Well, there are elinks and abovementioned w3m, but they are hardly full-featured replacements.

I've read a lot of good things about cmus — the music player. But I've never used it myself.

@utopify_org You are doing god's work!
I said this ironically, but I really approve of what you do. It's important, this place is for everyone to enjoy after all. I think I've only made a couple exceptions — but in those cases I think no lengthy description could make it clearer to visually impared person or one speaking different language.
Your thread is insightful, thanks for sharing!

Oops! I always try to provide the images I upload with text descriptions, however I always forget they are there when I look at what others post 🤪

@CedarHammock@mastodon.cloud Oh, I'm not some hardcore fan either. I think I've already seen it parodied before, that's why I got this idea. I've looked it up and turns out I was spot on 😁

@GreenFire@climatejustice.social Thanks for sharing. I was pretty sure that's what was happening. And this is direct financial support only, I'm sure Kremlin does more than that by providing "informational support" to various hot topics that polarize society in the West.
Russia also provided interested parties in several African countries with military support and political advisory.
Nice to know US Intelligence has some proof.

@CedarHammock@mastodon.cloud Well, it is funny 😆
But I think it's a reference, look: banksyexplained.com/girl-with-
