@santiago
It all coincided with "technical issues" (no way to confirm whether they indeed are, but this is what Facebook claims) when people couldn't search for certain hash tags (republican, democrat) which gave further rise to conspiracy theories.
What can I say, this sure doesn't make the likes of Facebook any more trustworthy, but falling for conspiracies is even worse 🤷

@santiago
The way I discovered this is also quite interesting: Russian state media uses every opportunity to spread chaos and misinformation, they also almost always lie and they have picked up the "automatically followed JD Vance/Trump/Melania" story, this in turn piqued the interest of fact checkers working for the media covering Russia which I trust and… Here it is!

Wow, looks like someone picked up the ball with — a decent suite of Android apps:
fossify.org/about/
(And they are using fscking WebPee images on their website! 🤬 Well, what did I expect, they are Android app developers, once you dabble in cancer, you might as well go all the way)

@santiago
As bad as Facebook is, turns out, there is a much simpler explanation for this: these people have been following the official government accounts and not private accounts of former, in this case vice president. As Trump's team is taking over, the accounts got transfered to them, some even got "automatically subscribed" to Trump himself 🤣

@kaia
They should indeed make it a rotary dial already and be done with it 😆

Ha-ha-ha-ha! True — gives away my habit of rebuilding Firefox with my own set of patches, package maintainer mentality 😅

@lucy
Is this what they call "The Internet"? 🤭

@millihertz @lily
> nobody can switch in a broken or malicious shared library under your software
True, but neither can you and if a vulnerability gets discovered in one of the libraries, you'd have to rebuild everything that depends on it — or at least re-link if you keep the object files which no one does, but which would make sense in case with such a distro.

Offline physical girls aren't real, but they CAN hurt you… Or was it the other way around? 🤔
Anyway! The second part of your reply sounds like a novel idea 🧐

Doesn't find have a "-delete" option or something like that?

What CPU architecture/ISA does Gameboy use, is it 32-bit ARM or something more exotic?

The car industry is transforming.

Volvo Cars now runs Rust (the language!) in production ECUs.

They started in 2019 with the power management unit, and now ship it in EX90 and Polestar 3. Higher code quality, fewer bugs vs C/C++.

I talked to the project lead, Julius Gustavsson, in the new episode of 'Rust in Production':

A VERY important remark in this case 🤣

Is the upside-down M silent too?
At the sea Conaghey… 🤔

Check out tut too: github.com/RasmusLindroth/tut
A very similar TUI client supporting Mastodon API, it's in Go, which makes it a bit more lightweight.
The project's gone stale, but it still works fine for me.
