I would recommend WNDR3800, but it's quite old and hard to find, might also have limited coverage by today's standards — might be a problem if you have a big house, get WRT1900ACS by Linksys instead, or WRT3200ACM — which is even better: openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt320
But not older models, check OpenWRT wiki and see if it's supported by the latest version and whether there are any caveats in terms of hardware support.

@munir
I'm actually not against integrated solutions, when my olde NetGear WNDR3800 got fried recently, I ended up getting exactly same model. I was using separate devices in the meantime and found it… messy, if you don't enjoy playing around with complex network configurations, I won't recommend it — simply not worth it.

@munir
Here is a readme file for a popular set of tools to bypass Russian DPI that you can run on OpenWRT routers: github.com/bol-van/zapret/blob
It covers a few DPI circumvention techniques and traffic routing in general, I think you might find a useful recipe or two in it.

@munir
Run it on the router and add a rule to the mangle table to pass all outgoing traffic through it? 🤔

I'm looking for work!

I've worked on Mac apps like Growl and Adium, did QA and integration on Apple's Foundation framework, and developed custom analysis tools for Field Team 6. I've also done a wide variety of my own tools, mostly in Python, C, or Objective-C.

I live in SF; can do Bay Area commute or remote.

Check out my résumé: boredzo.org/resume/

QNX becomes free for non-commercial use, releases Raspberry Pi 4 image

A long, long time ago, back when running BeOS has my main operating system had finally become impossible, I had a short stint running QNX as my one and only operating system. In 2004, before I joined OSNews and became its managing editor, I also wrote and published an article about QNX on OSNews, whic

Why would a UK news media do that? Don't they use metric units themselves? 😂

magick convert — their designated replacement for it, works fine for me 🤷

Oh, I didn't mean to offend — it's actually quite an accomplishment: getting to floor 7 evading most of the fights, I only remember doing this playing as wizard and using a wand of digging on the floor below me — it makes a hole that spans over multiple levels if you do it like this.

А что если правда? И каждое покушение было успешным, а они просто выпускали нового клона😮

The microwave oven I have now is nearly perfect — that wattage wheel labeled with just roman numbers might seem a bit confusing and it actually only goes up to 800, which might be a problem for some, but I mostly use it for reheating, so I'm fine with it. Otherwise I like it very much: just two controls, both rotary and no extra buttons, especially if the "touch" kind.

Muad'Stdlib — to make it sound fscked up on even more levels 😅

@scarlett7447
Are all 4 gigs usable though? I might be wrong, but I think Intel chipsets of the time only allowed you to use 3 — it was indeed 4 in "About this Mac", but in top/System Monitor you could see that system could only address 3 gigabytes.

You cannot order me around, you're not my mother! 😭
(Not that it would make it okay for my mother to order me around and of course I'm already following him 😁)

@Hyolobrika
I haven't tried GNOME (or any full DE) in a while — they might be all awful to me at this point 😂 I want just the basic window management: be it dwm or sway, and I want to map shortcuts to launch the software I want. I already rely on some GTK-based software so I have the libraries installed, GNOME software isn't something deeply integrated — in most cases it's just something GTK-based — already having those libraries makes me fine with it.

Single-user instance is low-maintenance, I'm fine with self-hosting, but I'm currently at the crossroads: either I keep paying Proton to host my e-mail or find a VPS and switch to hosting it myself, if I go for the later — I might host Plemora there as well and stop worrying about my hardware not being powerful enough or burning through the power bill too fast. If I go for the former… I'm keeping qoto in mind, thanks!

There are known exceptions… such as the Web (which is complicated… but interesting because it's an exemplar case of regulatory capture), but unification (uniformication? is that even a word) is inferior to standardisation — as it enables evil in order to poke us in the back to take over only one team.
