This goes emulated in software and runs at 2 fps 😞

@Tony
Real. I'm pretty sure it got adopted this way from some other language, could be French, but I'm not certain.

@iska
And sure, ARM, which is originally de-abbreviated as Advanced RISC Machine doesn't use limited number of instructions either, I suppose, that would make instruction set extensions impossible.
Modern RISC approach is about having to use a particular set of registers for operations, not having different flavours of the same one for different operands like Intel does, but not about having fewer instructions in principle 🤷

I don't know, maybe it's possible to have a RISC-V CPU module for reform as the design is originally modular, although it might require extra work, but all currently available offerings, both for original Reform, and for newer Pocket Reform, are ARM-based:
shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-re
crowdsupply.com/mnt/pocket-ref
Which isn't bad, like I said, RISC-V is more a personal preference in this case.

The most fun part is that they seem to have decided not to spend any money on the project that at least had a semblance of looking scientific and decided to copy over the Wikipedia and just change the parts they don't like 😌
Every evil intent of this state is mostly neutralised by desire to steal on every step of the plan and sheer incompetence.

@splitshockvirus
Can't you use dpkg-src to rebuild it for the older version? If you do it with Debian five releases apart, it's likely to fail without modifications, but with Ubuntu it might just work as is.

@iska
Yeah, it's the same company, but this one's more decently specced and it supposed to be cheaper despite that 🤭
I couldn't find any hands-on reviews of the old model, so maybe it didn't make it into mass production and they decided to just "upgrade" it this way. Going into mass production would also explain the price drop.
And yes, sure, Reform is cool, but I'd prefer RISC-V over ARM if they are otherwise more or less the same.

@why @sun
No, according to the comments, it's probably a power management issue as there is no difference when it's on AC and when running on battery, and the clock goes up only to 2,4 although it should go all the way up to 4,0.

OMFG, the Cybertruck even has a glove compartment? How is that even possible?!!! 😲

@newt
That doesn't sound like such a bad idea! I can keep IPv4 for proxy only 🤔

#Belarus opposition published a video from one of the Belarus border guard centres where they instruct a new group of migrants on the border storming tactics. The guard instructs the men in Russian, which is then translated into English. He tells them they will be equipped with knives and advises to hit all “unprotected parts” of the #Poland border guards, such as neck, armpits etc. Video in Russian and English, with English subtitles was published by Belarusian opposition news agency NEXTA.

Same here, I checked it out on one of my machines, found no benefits and switched back to ext4. I've seen claims that it's better when working with big git repos, but this was about the time when I was cross-building Void for AC100 netbook, so I was patching stuff in void-packages a lot, didn't notice any performance gains. Maybe my hardware is too old for btrfs 😂

@p
Agreed, that would be way cooler! But I don't see harm in this coming out either: with niche hardware, availability in different regions might be spotty. This looks like something that could become available even in Russia. And it's not like there are plenty on RISC-V laptops already, it won't spread the community thin, so why not? 🤷
