One of the rare occasion when I don't think it's one of those "EU gravely concerned". The relationship between the two states is already as bad as it can get without declaring war. What else should they respond with, start bombing Moscow? Military response wouldn't accomplish anything and yet they have to respond with something — so this is what they do 🤷

No explanation. Especially considering the official version they went with, ruling out ISIS involvement and in order to pin it on Ukraine, claiming that these men did it for the money. Hard to believe one is able to carry out such a massacre, killing dozens of civilians at point blank without serious ideological brainwashing.

Only those attend rock shows or kids' dancing festivals? Russia is a multiconfessional country and it's not some religious holiday even.

Pooteen has to look smarter than his underlings on TV, so he couldn't afford to tell such a sloppy story and blame Ukraine explicitly.
But as using the getaway to cross the border together (!) wasn't enough to point in the direction of those whom they wanted to pin this on — might be too hard to grasp for the average Russian state-run TV consumer, it was ultimately decided to keep them all alive so they could tell the Ukraine story in person a couple of days later.

Who cares what ISIS has to day? We all know that terrorists are not those who make demands or claim the responsibility, but those whom you are comfortable with pinning it on 🤪

And crossing the border between nations at war — yeah, that's where no one would expect them! On a fucking car? The same one they've used to escape the crime scene? No one's that insane and/or dumb

Would make a believable story if it wasn't so poorly carried out in details. They have previously stated that one of these men agreed to do it for half a million roubles, half of which he had received as a payment to his card. Hard to imagine that someone would kill dozens of civilians without being ideologically prepared beforehand, but I might accept even that.

But Ukraine theory doesn't stand any critical thinking at all — killing dozens of civilians makes you expect you might be killed in a shootout, and they are claiming that one of the detainees was doing it for $10k? 🤔
And attempting to escape together on the same car through the part of border that is likely, due to recent incursions, most closely monitored at the moment? 🤦

TBH it isn't much easier for me to buy the ISIS story — people usually read about terrorists and get all emotional imagining those who just like to shoot people and blow up stuff — for no good reason, but terrorist in fact are those who use terror for political gain, killing people and blowing stuff up isn't worth anything when no demands are made. And what demands even in theory could be?
That and the fact that Kremlin keeps most players of the Mid East close, including the nastiest…
