Well, it certainly can act as an RSS reader, I'm not denying that and I'm using it myself — for RSS too. But how does it fare compared to what you expect from a modern RSS reader?
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the same blog, what is easier to navigate in your opinion?
And I'm not some GUI freak, but if I wanted just lines of text, I'd pick some lightweight TUI program, not this juggernaut that can eat 1,5 gigs of RAM easily.

It's not like they are electing them, both Erdogan and Orbahn have obvious autocratic tendencies, in Turkey there was even this coup attempt not long ago: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Tur
And Orbahn is… Well, Orbahn 😄
I think not electing then would require more serious effort than just voting for another candidate.

One of the rare occasions when Happy Meal indeed looks happy 😸

I have disabled search from address bar entirely so it only gets interpreted as URL and when I want search I explicitly specify where with prefixes, e.g. !d — to search with DuckDuckGo, !w — search on Wikipedia, !mw — Merriam-Webster dictionary and so on, I have about a dozen of these. I really like it this way and it helps me avoid those rare occasions when mistyped URL gets disclosed to the search engine (yep, I'm paranoid😅)

Thunderbird has to become a good RSS reader first, currently it's a pretty awful one — there is no way to make it display article images next to summary, which turns navigation into scrolling endless characterless lines. Reader mode that is present in FF is somehow not in TB — where it would be most useful.
And I won't even mention endless bugs: frequent crashes when you have lots of feed sources and DB corruption of RSS account when you attempt to sort them.

@rugk
I have privacy.resistFingerprinting set to true on all of my machines and I've never seen it interfering with protected urls, such as addon section of Firefox website.
At some point it reported wrong version of Firefox, but there was a way to work it around and anyway is has been fixed long ago. This has to be something else 🤔

📣 Hi all. I'm #lookingforwork in the games industry or any other creative industry.

I loved my job and learned so much but sadly, everyone in DGF is looking for new jobs as our wonderful studio is halting production.

I have a lot of experience across many different industries. I am open to remote roles: full-time, part-time, contract and freelance.

> What/who is G.I.Joe? 🤔
TBH I had near-instantly forgotten about it yesterday, but today the name came up again in a song that I listen to quite often and I had to look it up! Congratulate me, now I have even more useless knowledge to understand pop culture references in memes and rap songs 😅
It's amazing actually how you can encounter something quite often, but never care enough to look up what/who exactly it is 🤔

Don't worry, soon they'd get unified into overworked AI data engineer treated like rentable servant 🤭

> It’s a new low, even for Russian elites. 🤮
Sorry to disappoint, but nothing's new in Russia, there was also this famous Obama banana post by then acting member of parliament: theguardian.com/world/2013/sep
Much worse if you ask me — absolutely disgusting! AFAIR she even attempted to downplay it later by claiming that her account was hacked 🤦

@spinach @yassie_j
Or at least delete the profile directory and restore old copy from backup — to ensure no persistent data slipped through 😅

They are abundant in Russia, but it turned out that they actually don't want to be there and they are better prepared to fight for there right not to. Looks like numbers of those who were willing to do it for the money has also significantly diminished. Well, you can always grab some students right on the streets, but greenhorns are of little use, besides sending whose who are strongly against it to the frontline is poor for the morale.

@h4890
I agree, it is an important factor, and I believe there's a significant shortage of personnel on the frontline on Russian side, considering how Russian commanders (historically) like this "meat wave" tactic. But Putin of course can't start the new draft before re-election, and the more he delays it the worse it would be, information that you might never return spreads.
I think he originally thought that he has a significant reserve in law enforcement.
