@charlie_root
> There has been a high level of projection on the fedi lately.
Fedi is still better than the rest in this regard, but yeah, people start losing their cool often and make A LOT of assumptions.
Sorry, not being a US citizen don't have anything to say on the main topic 😅

@useless_idiot Yeah, just desperate — not seeing support from their own elites, they turn to whomever says the right words. He did try to play both sides originally, but the Left just handled friend of foe better this time — maybe no one wants to side with the tankies, they look like complete lunatics nowadays, maybe it's China that looks more appealing than modern Russia — that might be the case 🤷

@useless_idiot
> Did you hear anything about that?
No, but they probably crack down on all groups that aren't already infiltrated and controlled and that would include migrants, the guy they have officially responsible for communication with Muslim population is out of touch — not some influental figure in these circles and never was and they are probably trying to change that as overall paranoia increases.

@useless_idiot
> 10% of Russia is Muslim
In Moscow it's probably higher than in Russia overall as migrants usually come from Central Asia and they are mostly Muslims and the come mostly to major cities where they can make money quickly, not to rural areas.

@useless_idiot No, I think people are free to have any beliefs, but we live in a secular society, major streets of the city sholdn't be blocked like that for people to pray and there are muslims who are perfectly fine with that and well integrated into modern society.
If all those people were Christians, I'd probably not be happy about it either.

@useless_idiot What are you talking about, Putin is just preparing to fight the liberal elites! Those are traditional values — just as traditional as values of those Taliban fellas. What can go wrong?
Seriously, I was a bit shocked to discover that some right wing westerners think of a KGB-man who was a member of a Communist Party, who is divorced and is never seen with his family and who has turned Moscow into this as some hope of white Europe 🤦
How fucked up is that?

@Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @paulschoe @zekefeu
Doesn't look like guns had anything to do with it — just a police officer who was used to resorting to excessive force (he did it in the past): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting
This article might be biased, but it doesn't look that way to me. The police even made bold attempts to downplay what has happened by refusing to release bodycam footage and later rehired this man and didn't reveal that to the public.
Some seriously fscked up shit here!

@dcc @theorytoe Long lost wisdom, something like Dead Sea Scrolls — but rather Dead HDD Memes 😄

@fluffykittenspambot Several shades of grey — the normal version, with cats, not the Twilight fanfic 😹

@adiz I see a man with a plan! 😁
Getting stuff that isn't officially available in your market is always a gamble — if something goes wrong, even getting parts might be tricky. It's not that bad when you buy used — after all, it has already worked for some time for someone else and probably will continue doing so, but I'd be reluctant getting new devices like that.

@pancakes We need to solve that trolley problem… The right way 😈

@metallcorn
Да надо бы уже по-хорошему, хотя бы ради эвакуации. Но ведь это… работать надо 🤪

@moffintosh @lanodan @arh There is also Tootik with Gemini frontend: github.com/dimkr/tootik
But I've never tried actually using it. Maybe I should 🤔

@adiz
"Software formerly known as Calckey" 😂

Also, Prince died of a fentanyl overdose? Damn, I didn't know that! 🤯

@ipg But a negative number, what does it make those, unfollow requests? 🫢

@neural_meduza Ну вот это точно звучит как настоящая новость 😩

@adiz @natty @privateger The protocol itself is quite limited, but people have already started building upon that and there is Titan for bigger file transfers, it's probably too early to speak of getting rid of http, but theoretically even that is possible.

@adiz @natty @privateger
I don't think so, for me the web is what's built on http(s and /2 /3 — which were already bad) and certain stack of technologies, Gemini has its own.
I don't even think we need to get rid of http, maybe the /3 part, but not relying JavaScript heavily would already be good for starters, and especially stuff like WebAssembly — web was supposed to be just documents connected together by hyperlinks, not a platform for applications — and Gemini is just that today.

@oku_yama_old
