@safiuddinkhan Except for the few cases when building the package requires newer Debian tools which don't even exist in old release. This was the reason why I gave up using Debian on my PowerPC MacMini: a lot of software has support for building Debian packages, but no tools.
Going with PowerPC port of Void was a better option anyway — it was still maintained at the time.

@trogluur They'll just introduce phone verification for new accounts 🤷
> maybe it's time for a new platform anyway
This was the proper solution from the very beginning, why bother with protesting, I don't get it. You can't make your own government that easy so it makes sense, but in this case…
I'm not against people having fun of course, but it's not a protest then 😏
Okay, I'm just a buzzkill 😅
@staidwinnow @mjdxp

@Moon I have always thought it was a bad idea, since it's inception, no one was listening: "Hurr-durr, but it protects me against DDOS"
TBH, it was indeed bad at the time: a bunch of teenagers making requests over DLS could take your website down (LOIC or whatever?), I think you could make a Windows machine unresponsive with tcpdump over LAN — fun times 🤣
But this was still a bad idea!

@safiuddinkhan
I only remember playing this one: openparsec.sourceforge.net/
It was very long time ago when there were very few native Linux games, the gfx was amazing for the time. It didn't have the economic part, basically just dogfights in space online.
I'm not sure they are in any way related TBH 😅

@safiuddinkhan
> how the hell I ended up getting it free?
Maybe there was a giveaway? 🤔

@safiuddinkhan Damn! I'm still running out of normal free space from time to time and there is already freespace 2! And it's $10 🤪

@theorytoe Whoah! Even Click-Clack Online with latest DLCs? 🤩

@gemlog Damn!
This instance uses a fork of older Masto and messes up the URLs when they have unescaped parentheses. And I always forget about that 😅

@gemlog Look, they've even made a list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspicio(2022–2023)
Latest addition is Kristina Baikova a 28 y.o. vice president of Loco Bank (yeah-yeah, they probably intended that as a short for "locomotive", but got this 🤣).
Doesn't look as a political assassination TBH, but might have been used to scare someone else 🤷

@a1ba Did you know you can read the posters? All you have to do is move in front of one and use the Action command while in Normal mode.

@blitzed @Viking @yukiame At least it's not Scottish Collie — that would be really difficult for the kittens to handle 😹

@jik You can enable autocorrect for normal keyboard input in Windows too, but it's so disgustingly bad that I doubt anyone would like that 😂

@profoundlynerdy Why they replaced excellent keyboards in MBPs rivaled only by Thinkpads with cheaper ones from plastic MacBooks was just beyond me, but they had to go further and replaced their excellent external/desktop keyboards with low-profile laptop-like ones 🤪
It's like they've reached the pinnacle of design with PowerPC Macs and had nowhere to go but downhill 🤣
@jik

@r000t People should host their instances on their pocket calculators living in their top drawers — no hosting providers involved! 🤪
@lain

@gemlog Looks like what has happened put the whole system in disarray, no one knows what's happening now, yesterday Putin had congratulated Byelorussian people with their Independence Day. It's next Monday. So he did it five days in advance, on Wednesday — looks like they are putting all pre-recorded material they have to use. Another proof that it wasn't false flag. FSB seized the famous "troll factories" equipment — so now is a great time to check who's grassroots, who's on payroll😂

@anniemo71 Oh, it's everywhere on the Internet 🤣
Original website had a way to filter out NSFW content, it had extensive categorization so if you wanted just the TV shows, you could browse just that, but, like I said, I'm not sure about the mirror.
@gemlog

@gemlog Original one was indeed shutdown, there is even a Wikipedia article about it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RARBG#Sh
There might be unofficial (whatever that might mean in this case) mirrors — someone's attempts at reviving it. But with torrent sites it always gets down to trust, I did trust the original team, mirrors — not so sure. With video you are safe of course — in worst case you just don't get what you want, but I wouldn't try it with software 😅
@anniemo71

@gemlog Problem with this T40 isn't suspend-related, it's a decade old bug in old Intel wireless module which never got fixed and that prevents it from associating with WPA2 access point — it usually succeeds after a dozen retries, but of course on resume it has to do it again and you can't tell how much time it will take, this ruins the whole experience of using the machine, making it unreliable, it always "kinda works but might not" 🤣

@gemlog I think Hibernation (or Suspend-to-Disk) works more or less reliably since it was re-introduced as SWsuspend2 in Linux 2.6, superseeding the previous implementation. I've never had major issues with it on x86 or x86-64 machines with modern 5.x/6.x kernels. It even works on my PPC64 machine. Suspend-to-RAM works fine on x86 and x86-64, but not on PowerPC or ARM michines, with the latter it's hit or miss and depends on particular SoC.
