@gemlog Haiku's nice, by I haven't used it much, I've probably had used the original BeOS more. I have another laptop for such experiments: https://social.librem.one/@m0xee/109225441071185098
Despite having an only 20 Gb HDD, it has 5 (or even 6) OSes installed, including Windows 2000 some older Ubuntu that worked on Pentium 3, Plan9, QNX and either Haiku or Syllable, maybe even both. I don't use it much nowadays because one of the hinges broke, but I still have it. I've been doing the Fedi thing long before Fedi existed 😂
@gemlog I wish its wireless adapater worked more reliably so I could use it with Linux, but it doesn't. I explain the in the comment. So most of the time this one's just collecting dust. I have a better specced T43 with a different wireless card, that one runs Void as a sole OS and is quite usable, but most of the time it's used as a print server 😂

Котятница всё же 😹
(Или как это правильно по-русски называется?)
I can also use this old ThinkPad to run some nice software in Linux like Lagrange here. Oh my, it's so versatile! 🤪
No, unfortunately it is not, Intel Wireless 2100 kernel module is too buggy, all the devices use the same IRQ, in Windows it kinda works, but in Linux it causes "Fatal interrupt. Restarting Firmware" error upon association. It will still connect to the network in a few minutes, but it's not exactly the reliability everyone wants and on waking from sleep you have to do it again 😩

@thor Yeah, exactly!
Stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwy806RC2-Q
They could've easily made 60 FPS — like clicking fingers. And they are not some small studio, they are one of the pioneers of the 3DCG thing — yet, they choose not to.
You're right, it's probably some tradition 🤷
@thor Yes, but with 2D it does seem natural, it was originally done by hand, then went digital, I'm pretty sure there are techniques to automate "tweening", but not everyone does that as an homage to how it was originally done. 3D on the other hand was digital since its inception, it doesn't seem natural at all — at least to a person with more technical mindset 😅
@thor Yep, makes sense. It might have been expensive originally, but now it's more like tradition.
@thor I have always wondered why do Japanese 3D animated series and movies like Knights of Sidonia and Expelled from Paradise (I think even Blame) have lower FPS. I mean they don't have to do every frame by hand, they can interpolate easily once they have the key frames. Computing time used for rendering shouldn't be that expensive and yet it's always like that 🤔

Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
