My phone has excellent battery life — it can easily last over 7 days on single charge in standby.
About 4-5 days on average usage. I still charge it every couple of days, although I don't have to, I just feel uncomfortable leaving home with battery less than half charged, and I rarely charge it up to 100%.

Most didn't, a few Panasonic models with extra large batteries maybe did. On average, if you didn't talk much, you still had to charge them at least weekly.
And the secret technology that old phones used — there wasn't much you could do with them 😂
Nowadays most people spend hours using their phones, not necessarily for conversations.

No, I mean even getting color emojis to work was trouble, it just had problems with variable width characters.
But I haven't used it in years, maybe it's patched already. Sure, give it a try, doing so will do no harm 🤷
Urxvt used to be fast with very minimal feature set — pretty much in the vein of alacritty. It's probably the other way around though, since it came earlier 😅

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. I'm new to Android phones and tend to forget that perfect hardware might be easily ruined by abysmal support period. And you can't get away with just enthusiasts porting newer Android versions to the device, some low-level stuff no one else has access to still has to be maintained by the phone maker.
