@GLFC
Even iPod to Firewire cables existed and AFAIK the first iPhones, the 2G ones, still supported them. Apple used to be somewhat better at retaining compatibility than now.

@DotardTed Children are lighter, maybe they don't gain enough momentum to roll outside of it, but it still looks very unsafe 😱

@black6_
With lasers and plasma bombs?
Just to make the message from the ones who wanted to join the Space Marines more clear 😂 @neanderthalsnavel

@kotik Окей, я всё собрал, вызывай такси 😹

@Renegade_GDI@mastodon.world You are right it's way older than that. Here in Russia many believe that a lot of bad things came out of Soviet times, but in fact they predate SU by ages.
My people doesn't know its own history as it gets rewritten for every generation. Most, even the educated ones, believe that Napoleon invaded in 1812 because he wanted to capture their land. A few know about continental blockade of UK and that Russia itself failed to uphold its end of deal, not outright refused,just sabotaged it

@Renegade_GDI@mastodon.world Old trick from KGB playbook — trying to negotiate while it still looks like he has control over what's happening on the front lines. The recent desperate attacks are part of this — so no one realizes that manpower is already spread thin. Once Ukraine brings newly received equipment to operational status the frontline will cave in and it would be hard to convince general public that negotiations make any sense. Rumors of Belarus joining the war effort are also part of this.

@neural_meduza Главное чтобы в этот раз как следует отремонтировали, динозавров вернули.

@neural_meduza Это не flash mob, это new normal 😌

@neural_meduza Так вот кто удалил тогда весь код!

А в чём разница? 🫤

@gemlog Well, what can I say then? You're blessed to have them and not pigeons or plants that cause chemical burn 😂

@gemlog E.g. these guys: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heracleu
Or poplar trees in big cities, where they still cause trouble for the ones allergic to them during summer.
And most of all, the pigeons! I'm not sure about Americas, but in Europe I think they at least try to control their population, not here in Russia, they are like rats — flying rats that are everywhere 😅
But then again… Deer — that's a nice animal and a useful one! Sounds like something out of the ordinary in my book 😄

@gemlog Don't get me wrong, I'm not that sentimental, I do eat meat myself a lot. And yes, no natural predators does make sense, still, ecosystems should somehow balance themselves out, right? So it's definitely human intervention even if an indirect one. I get how that happened to cats — humans love cat so they just let them breed uncontrollably. USSR used to mess with ecosystems to the point that it became a problem: artificial waterbeds and all, but it was plants which were their "forte".

@gemlog
> Deer are an invasive species on Haida Gwaii
I think I've learned that from you and I know that it's true, but it still doesn't sit right with me. Even cats in Australia — that does sound reasonable. But deer… Oh dear, how could that happen 🤭

Not so sure about that 🤨
