I believe these were originally Russian military district designations that the vehicle belongs to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_districts_of_Russia
Z for Zapad (West in Russian), V for Vostok (East), there was O (Central district?) in use in the beginning, but I don't see that often nowadays.
Then apparently someone decided that sticking to Z would be a good idea and they went with it.

Но так, у Element/New Vector хорошо в конце каждой вакансии написано:

Мне кажется, надо так же, но на языке страны размещения вакансии и без ссылки на закон, если такового нет.

At least not in its current form, probably we'll see something close to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, it still means dark times ahead, probably for decades, and we may see another iteration of this, probably it falls apart into a dozen of smaller states — I don't know. Probably in some of these states even worse people will come to power, but they'll have neither inclination, nor capacity to carry out such atrocities.

@DotardTed That is if Russia survives! Not many agree with me in Russia and abroad, but I believe this state will not survive losing this war. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in people rising up either, just the economy spiraling down — TikTok kids won't be able to go back to living in mud huts. The repression machine is there, but the level of incompetence on every level is astounding. The war only accelerated this country on its path to caving in.

@book I get it, you are very skeptical about your own government and being critical of them is a right thing, but rooting for the guy who opposes them just out of spite is probably not the best strategy. Some of you western guys are delusional about what is it like in Russia. Russia fighting for its interests is total bullcrap. Does the one who lives in Vladivostok or Yekaterinburg or even in Kazan care about having more land in the European part? Putin's interest — okay, but Russia's interest? 🤷
