It's actually pretty scary that most people take for granted that most stuff on the interwebs is free and think of ad revenue as a default.
Take Telegram for example, people use it to send video, music, etc. It has to cost huge sums to operate, yet the ads are nowhere to be found, so where does that money come from? Yeah, sure, your messages are safe and secure! Encryption, you know.
At least they have premium accounts now so it's a bit more believable.

I'm so glad that cats I have now can't jump high. They like carrying stuff in their mouth and they enjoy stealing, I know it'd be a scavenger hunt every day if I couldn't hide things from them on top of cabinets.
They are good at climbing though so I have to keep overcoats in storage bags 😹

@salacious_creations t620 looks nice, but oh my, the times we live in! They call a 2 GHz quad core computer with up to 16 Gb RAM a thin client. My phone has an octacore CPU, 8 Gb RAM and half a terabyte of storage. And it is a cheap phone! What's not a thin client to todays standards, a dual 56-threaded CPU workstation with three 3080s? 🤭
