You can always use ffmpeg to make sure it did:
ffmpeg -i <file_name>

> Stream #0:0: Audio: flac, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16

s16 — here I have a 16-bit signed one

@iska@mk.starnix.network There is also something called C--, it's like portable assembly. I think it's used by a popular Haskell tool chain.

@newt
And that is why it's important to be up to date 😅
Cool! Thanks for the tip.

Something is wrong with their form though. Drops, who'd want that? 🙄

OGG Vorbis is lossy. FLAC does support 32-bit signed sample format, not with the reference encoder though and, according to this, you won't benefit much: forum.audacityteam.org/viewtop
Using generic file compression tools like 7zip or even ZStandard is probably your best bet.
I don't know much about other lossless codecs like APE, they probably don't support 32 bit. AIFF is uncompressed, same as WAV basically.

Last, but not least, famous ones can be godawful writers too 😅

@splitshockvirus
And everyone would migrate to your new and improved million dollar instance the next day anyway 😂
@rob

@coolboymew I think I did this too. Couple of times! Well, maybe more 😅
I've used heavily processed voice samples as a drum kit once too 🤭

@david

Can't you override it by setting some env var?
@splitshockvirus

@splitshockvirus
I still have the Screenshot utility in my FF, maybe you should enable it in about:config 🤷
It doesn't handle scaling very well (I think it breaks if you have font.size.systemFontScale set to some value other than default), but otherwise works perfectly fine.
@david

@cafkafk Which one of them is Sausage McMuffin with Egg?

@hackernews@die-partei.social Too bad it's only using fonts.googleapis.com that is illegal, not the typefaces themselves. I wish using ugly fonts like Droid Sans, Roboto, Noto, etc would be illegal 😈
It was so easy to block that host name and avoid them, now that some would self-host those, I'd have to resort to forcing my choice of fonts in Firefox.

re: Fedi meta

@oklomsy
Oh, don't worry, let 'em have it! Maybe they can neutralize each other out this way 😉
@jeang3nie

@jeang3nie They can hang out on their own instance though so everyone else can block them easily 🤷
@oklomsy

@newt It might be yuri as well. We might not know everything about them 🤭

@mangeurdenuage Disable ad blocker? Usually "please enable JavaScript" is enough for me to close the tab immediately 😆
