Looking at the CDC excess death numbers versus the mortality rate, it looks like COVID-19 is saving lives as well as taking lives. Excess death percentages greater than the mortality rate percentage mean less people are dying of other causes (probably due to less social contact).
Of course the excess death numbers only account for death due to contracting COVID-19, and not due to side effects of the government and media handling of COVID-19 (suicides, starvation, exposure, etc.).

What if board members of US credit unions would not be unpaid volunteers, but the pay would depend on how large proportion of members vote in board elections.
Most board elections are uncontested, with low voter participation.
It would incentivise an engaging contest. Votes for candidates who did not get elected would still mean more pay for those elected.
To be paid more, one would be encouraged to encourage members to hold one accountable.
Will donate 500$ to 1st CU that wants to do it.

I have a lot of trouble with focus, so once I gain focus I hate to lose it. According to Peopleware by DeMarco and Lister, lost focus is one of the biggest productivity wasters in knowledge work. That's why I never turn on notifications an my office computers. I also will always advocate for offices with doors. Instead of a standing desk, give me an isolation chamber desk please.
