Mexico rushed through new copyright as part of its #USMCA trade deal, copy-pasting the worst of US copyright. This law undermines Mexicans' fundamental rights and burdens Mexican businesses in so many ways. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/07/mexicos-new-copyright-law-puts-human-rights-jeopardy

This article explains all the reasons why we should actively shun Microsoft products and kindly but firmly refuse to collaborate with people who use them, polluting the world with their effectively proprietary formats... this is a teaching opportunity. Microsoft are a bad actor - people should avoid being sullied by association. And Google is only slightly better. https://www.theregister.com/2020/07/23/g_suite_javier_soltero_interview/

Indiana University is requiring returning students to sign a Student Commitment regarding COVID-19. This includes a mandate for diagnosed students to download "any app if one is required by IU." This is inappropriate. https://fall2020.iu.edu/return-to-campus/student-commitment-form.html
I discovered http://cardgames.io games work great on my #Librem5 as a Gnome Web local app with its own launcher icon. While I already had solitaire and other games, this adds games like cribbage that don't have a native Linux app.

Do you want to work on free and open source software as a full-time job? People ask me all the time how to find companies who might hire you for this, and I share this command line snippet:
git log -n100000 --format="%ae" | cut -d@ -f2 | sort -u | less
This will produce a list of email domains who are committing in a given git repo, which often corresponds pretty closely with the list of companies willing to hire you to work on that project and others like it.
