@fatboy OSM appears (IANAL) to have really open licensing. Data protection appears to be subject only to government granted rights, so contributors should be careful what they contribute. I'm not sure what kind of protections can be added. It'd be nice to be able to add private data to share with family and friends without having to worry about e.g., Microsoft using it to sell Office.
