@todd Nice progress! Looks like things are coming together.

Just in case you haven't seen it, there is a write up on the reform up on Tom's Hardware:

tomshardware.com/news/mnt-modu

It's a pretty big site so I'd say it's a pretty big deal.

@mntmn Assuming my earlier comment wasn't too far off the mark. Perhaps it would be worth while for you to reach out to the guys over at: powerpc-notebook.org/en/ . Right now I think their plan is to design a motherboard to drop into the same chassis used by the KDE slimbook. If you are doing what I think you are doing, it would be much better for them to design to the new standard you are creating.

@mntmn Please forgive my ignorance on this topic, but does this mean you are standardizing the design of your laptop? If so, which parts are actually encompassed by that? Are you basically attempting to standardize your laptop motherboard from factor (similar to the mini-It standard)?

@mntmn What sort of things are you going to display on that oled? (battery percentage, battery voltage, battery discharge rate, or would it be more for reporting failure codes when the system won't post) ?

@mntmn, you may want to go check out this new Slashdot thread and put out a blurb for the new reform. You might reach a large audience.

we will hand-assemble (incl PCBA) a very small number of MNT Reform 2 beta laptops with full aluminum body in January 2020 outside of the campaign. Price 1500 EUR. If you're interested: lukas@mntre.com

@mntmn I've been thinking about this for a bit. Is this a new custom Commodore 64 cartridge?

@mntmn Very interesting... I do hope that they plan to develop open source drivers for that new GPU (and mainline them), otherwise that new SOC won't really be an improvement over the i.MX.8 IMHO.

@mntmn That looks beautiful! You must feel proud.
