It's worth noting that the lawsuit here isn't about the fact that Google collects all this data, but that it does it using metered cellular data.

@kyle I will be 0% surprised if they turn around and offer $5 in credit for some soon-to-be-purged part of their app ecosystem as a remedy.

That's some pretty poor compression if transmitting no data takes hundreds of MB...

@kyle I'd guess it will be hard to prove a point that the harm was done by sensitive information being collected from the phone which was not in use for a month.
