You probably do not need to bring earplugs, but no guarantees.

If anyone coming to wants a free PinePhone Pro that won't boot (probably just needs reflashing but *might* have deeper issues) in a chipped but functional case, let me know. I realize, a very hard offer to refuse.

Is it controversial to suggest that when emailing your resume to a job opening, you should put your name in the filename? Is the lack of doing this because people aren't in the habit of applying by email anymore? It is something that makes me think, this person is not thinking very many steps ahead (someone else on the receiving side has to rename all the files named just Resume.pdf) and that's a bad sign.

My "what to expect on your upcoming flight" email from Delta included *27 paragraphs* of small print Additional Terms.

And people complain about the GPL.

Pounds of Crayola I have moved so far today: 467

Someone the other day was insistent with me that Sailor Kiwaguro ink was not water resistant (smeared easily) even after drying for over half an hour. They might as well have told me the sky was ivy green. It was coming out of a fine nib pen, was on watercolor paper, and the amount of water was just drops from a brush. Any theories / corroborating experiences? It has to be the paper, right? But I know a lot of people who use it on watercolor paper generally.

Continuing to complain about 2FA practices, sending a numerical code from a short numerical "from" address is terrible and cruel.

I'll be at all of @conservancy next week -- hope to see many of you there!
Let me know if you'll be around.

The class I had with Alice Notley was one of my best and most memorable. "Descent of Alette" is a book/poem I'll keep forever (later in life I would think, "Hey, this is like Lisp!"). A big loss: interviewmagazine.com/culture/

Bets on how long it takes to cancel a Spectrum Business account over the phone (the only way to do it), immediately saying no to any promotions offered to stay? HINT: Currently at 40 minutes, and 3 people.

Fraud on my credit card to buy... GEICO auto insurance? This is some seriously risk averse risk taking behavior.

Funny that the company whose system can't tell if I'm saying "Yes" or "No" wants to use my voice to verify my identity.

You know, one of you could have maybe said, hey, John, maybe now is not the time to read a book about the sudden presence of a new secret police force in a previously democratic society.
