The governor of my state today declared that schools are to remaine closed until April 17, restaurants and bars are ordered to be closed to dine in customers, and indoor venues are to be closed except for essential functions.

I'm not sure when I moved to a dictatorship, but I do not like it!

As a general rule, I don't go out to eat very often; I'm too cheap. But in this time of "social distancing," I decided to make an exception. I love cracker barrel in general. It is even nicer when no one else is there.

Watching people suddenly go all socialist and demand that government take care of them is scary. We’re going to end up giving 60% or more of what we make in taxes to make up for this boondoggle. Cerno and Richard Spencer are leading the charge of mongs. True colors always shine through.

The governor of my state asked us to avoid "panic buying."
Perhaps, if the government would stop "panic governing," people would stop panicking which would so "panic buying."

From the CDC! smdh

FACT: 98 to 99% of the American people tested, who have symptoms (similar to flu), test negative for the Wuhan novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We are spending hundreds of billions, and disrupting all facets of life and liberty, to avoid a virus almost no-one carries.
@Nobody Well, I'm not using any tricks. Maybe if you don't think a debate is a good plan, we could try just a normal discussion. My beliefs include that race is a bad heuristic and that as long as someone is capable, that's what actually matters, so in your personal life as well as at the level of a society, you're best to keep the goals and the heuristics as close as you can. So, for example, if you are trying to staff a Mexican restaurant, the only thing to pay attention to when hiring your chef is what their food tastes like, not whether they're actually Mexican. It's definitely more likely that you get a better Mexican chef if the person you hire is Mexican, but that's not actually the thing that matters.

So what are your goals for the world you want to live in?

I know that's kind of a broad question, so I'll give an example: I want to remain free to do what I want to the extent that I can, and I want that for everyone because I believe that the more people with that freedom, the better. I want to hear interesting things, especially strange things, and I can't do that unless everyone has freedom of speech, and I don't think that it is ethical or practical to prevent an idea by fiat, so I believe in that very strongly. I don't want to believe anything untrue to the extent I can avoid it, so free and open communication is a requirement: nobody can question me if we can't communicate freely.

Hopefully that makes sense. What kinds of things do you want and what kind of world do you want to live in? No wrong answer, I just want to know what your values are, what's in your core?
@judgedread Presently there are 2,287 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the US, and only 49 people have died from it. (41 so far have recovered)

By contrast, the swine flu in 2009 infected 61 million people in the US, and killed 12,469.

Verdict: Like everything else that is made in China, the coronavirus is cheap junk that doesn’t work.

Honestly I have more faith in Walmart to be helpful during a crisis than the government, regardless of whether it's #Trump or #Obama in charge.

#Coronavirus

A: WHO announced Covid-19 is a pandemic
C: That's what I want to find out
A: I say the pandemic was announced by WHO
C: You mean you don't know?
A: Well I should
C: Then who announced it?
A: Yes
