@trhlofficial Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life

@Stellar
You shouldn't be able to buy an airsoft with food stamps.

@ai6yr @npr_bot
Can you add government funded media to the toots? Cause that would be funny!

I’d like to be able to describe reality accurately without it being treated as a slur. Males are men. Females are women. That’s my “hate speech.”

Not that my permission is necessary, but I don't see a problem with this.

Remember when Target started letting men in women's bathrooms and outraged conservatives refused to shop there until 48 hours later when they stopped caring? This won't last, either. twitter.com/i/web/status/16458

What I find particularly hilarious is the people that purchase cases of bud light so that they can then destroy them publicly. How does that hurt the company? They have aleady paid for them.

I have learned in the last year or so, that in order to avoid being called “transphobic” I have to:

1. Abandon child safeguarding.
2. Abandon basic biology.
3. Abandon womens safety.
4. Abandon my religion.
5. Abandon being honest.
6. Abandon my own identity as a Woman.
7. Abandon my Ethics.
8. Abandon my parental rights.

And I concluded that the price was too high, and I have a feeling many more people are waking up to this reality.

But the first thing I had to do was make peace with the fact that I will be called transphobic, no matter what I say.

And I’m okay with that.

Let them strike. They put out mostly garbage today anyway and the garbage that they put out is either a reboot or a spinoff of something else because they can't seem to come up with an original idea.

I completely agree with your take on this including the fact that there were better nominees than Trump. I supported Cruz that year. That said, you can't honestly believe that primary voters thought that he had the best chance of winning that year.
If anything, he is an argument for your case. Nobody that year thought Clinton could lose, but Trump was considered the worst pick for winnibility. However, he was the one that resonated with primary voters.

if you're going to be a news junkie, it's probably helpful to just view it as a source of entertainment rather than something to worry yourself sick over.

Communism's only lasting acheivement is causing 70 million of it's own people to starve to death in the 20th century due to malice and incompetence. Strategic positions are filled to solidify power not meritocratically. It incentivizes people with pervasive fear. Fear of sureveillance and secret police. Fear of going to the gulag, being shot in the street or being sent to the frontlines of a war without a weapon. God help you if there is a color revolution and you happen to wear glasses. You are a slave and there is no way out. You have nothing to call your own, no aspirations just hopelessness. Communism has been tried. It doesn't work.

In a world where no system is perfect saying that Communism is the least maligned is laughable. We have over a 100 years of data at this point. Data that we can access and process due to the information technology revolution driven almost entirely by the flawed but extremely innovative west.

Allowing people to reap the fruits of their own labor is aligned with the common interest because it gives people some sense of self sovereignty which, in the end, is what everyone wants. You can invest your wealth in initiatives you find valuable and grow your wealth while fueling innovation. Capitalism in and of itself isn't some evil invention. Subversion and degeneration of culture are the culprits. Communism has the same issue but there is no hedge against it because the people don't really have any power.

Bet on greed.

I try to avoid calculators as long as possible. I tutored a 9th grader who wanted to use a calculator to add 5+3. When I didn't let him use one, he resorted to using his fingers. Calculators can be a good tool, but they can also become a crutch.

I actually did not believe that flat earthers even existed until a couple of years ago. I thought they were just internet trolls. Then, I met one in real life. Other than the flat earther part, he actually came across as fairly intelligent. When I found out that he actually believed the earth was flat, it blew my mind.

The battery is not great, but it is much improved from the pinephone. Since it is my daily driver, I haven't let it sit all day, but my guesstimation is that just powered on not being used, the battery would probably last 8-10 hours.
With the pinephone, I carried a charger with me everywhere that I went. Now I leave it in the car.
I am using stock PureOS.

@tuxdevices
I am in year 3 daily driving a linux phone. First I had the og pinephone, then the pinephone pro, and now the librem 5.
It is not to the point that I would recommend it to most people, but it is really really close to the point that I can recommend it to some people.

@realcaseyrollins
I actually liked Trump as president, so I am not as perturbed as you. That said, we are a long way from the primaries much less the election. I would not trust any polling.

In the case of the guy that I work with, I imagine that he was a hard worker in his previous field, because he is a hard worker here. He struggles. There are concepts that seem simple to me because I have been doing it for a while that he struggles with, ne he keeps pushing forward and learning.
You don't have to be the exception to the rule in intelligence. You do need to be the exception in work ethic and in your unwillingness to give up.

@skypage @thor
We have a guy that started as a network engineer for my company last year. I don't know what he did before, but I do know that it was not remotely related to what he does now. He somehow crippled his arm, which forced him to change fields. He is still at the beginning of a long path of learning, but he is in his 40's and making it happen.
