@cybette @vattuvarg maybe eventually if sales in the USA do take off then in the future they choose a device to port too thats in the most places like one of the pro models like say ok we are in 40 markets now what one device cover those 40 markets we now sell our OS too
@cybette @vattuvarg yeah sadly thats true im ok with it i just feel jolla will get flooded with where do i get a phone with all my bands questions from USA users sony does sell 5 of their phones to the USA market but they are the 1 and 5 series and the pro series
@cybette @vattuvarg i agree so what do you think we will do for devices or do you feel we will have to just import a xperia 10ii or xperia 10iii from europe and hope it has all the bands. i honestly feel jolla simply just thought all sony devices were sold in all markets when they are not so i think its just a simple mistake, and ill prob just import a device from europe and see if it has all the bands ill need for USA usage
@cybette same i sorta had the same reaction as you when i watched it i too was pleasently suprised at the end i really enjoyed it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkiQSSTHoO4 @cybette open source dumbphone with all code on github.
@vattuvarg @cybette i dont think jolla makes official sailfish X ports for any device other than sony devices
@cybette so finaly SFOS is officially in USA what do we do for phones im curious to see what jolla has to say about that
@cybette yes i have watched squid game 😁😁i binge watched all 9 episodes of season 1
@cybette i agree no hoops and official support i wonder what they will offer ports for device wise in the USA as soon as jolla announced USA support sony recently announced it will only make its pro phones for the USA market with USA bands the xperia 10ii and xperia 10iii models are not sold in the USA with USA bands for example i wonder if jolla knows this or not https://electronics.sony.com/c/mobile only those 5 models are sold in the USA

Hey all! I’ve been working hard to get the #Podcast up and running. I think I’m FINALLY at a point where I’m ready to go.
The first episode is already live and ready for you. It’s a little old now, due to setup, but it’s definitely still relevant!
Did you know @awai (the founder of @mobian) plays Guitar, and has album called “Dirty Greed” up on band camp? Neither did I! The sound is hella tight. Links are in the video description and on the Podcast Homepage.
The Podcast #video is available here: https://media.kaitaia.life/w/2waGiHKoqD7Jmg3Nw3Vq81
The Podcast #Homepage is: https://pebkac.show
You can find the #RSS feeds for #MP3; #AAC; #OGG; #FLAC and #Opus are all listed clearly on the main page.
If you just want to skip all the hassle, you can grab the MP3 feed here: https://pebkac.show/web/feed/mp3/
A huge shoutout and thank you, goes out to @awai, for giving me some of his precious time for an interview. Also, @linmob for helping me decide on direction, and giving some sound advice along the way.
I’d really love to hear what you think, and let me know if there’s anything you think I could do to make it better!
Thanks so much!
PS. Please forgive the ping and hashtag stuffing! After this post, I’ll never do it again (unless someone wants me too 😉)

The PEBKAC show has a podcast with an interview of our founder @awai (https://social.kaitaia.life/notice/AByvoWP3C9PiHqKjYG).
Listen, if you want to find out the color of our founder's cat, or learn about his music taste (and band). But also plenty of information about Mobian. The interview starts at 7:20 into the audio.
Unfortunately https://pebkac.show does not work, but the podcast is e.g. at https://www.breaker.audio/the-pebkac-show/e/95059581.

We live in a world in which a tree is worth more, financially, dead than alive, in a world in which a whale is worth more dead than alive. For so long as our economy works in that way and corporations go unregulated, they’re going to continue to destroy trees, to kill whales, to mine the earth, and to continue to pull oil out of the ground, even though we know it is destroying the planet and we know that it’s going to leave a worse world for future generations.
