@rory oh, I was referring to the background information on Michal Migurski that was brought up in the original post. I didn't know peoples' feelings on his employment situation. It would not have changed my vote anyway, but I am just surprised to be hearing a lot of this into after voting has already begun.

@darylsun@social.privacytools.io it does seem unfortunate they left the fediverse. Many of the issues they have with the fediverse are pervasive anywhere humans communicate. They could have stayed in order to "be the change you want to see in the world." I guess the technical/security problems were too much.

@rory yikes. Yeah, there are better, less severe, metaphors out there which would have been more appropriate. I voted within an hour of getting the ballot email, but maybe I should have waited? I didn't expect last minute revelations in the #OSMF board election.

@ssafar those illegal websites already exist. If you want to, you can download pretty much any movie in existence. Most people do not, because they are quality people. I like buying physical copies of my media since I can easily bypass the DRM. But I do not distribute it to others.

@salixlucida I don't see how most of the capabilities listed in the article are possible, unless SignalFrame (SignalGraph) will also exploit CVEs for all the networking types listed. The SignalGraph software "reveals presence and proximity of wifi, bluetooth and BLE devices in the environment." Unless the software also exploits vulnerabilities of those networks, I don't think they will be able to turn off devices and such.

@Ted I think you would be stirring up shit by sending that email, but maybe they need it? If you think the contractor in question will not receive remedial training to ensure such an event does not happen again, then maybe you speaking up might change something. I would try to be nice about it in any case.

@Gina I love Discovery! It took getting past the 4th episode though. Picard and Discovery have a different feel compared with the other ST shows, much darker less episodic. Once I got past those facts, it really got into them. Burnham is by far my favorite ST character.
