This week, I got pitched by a PR guy who expressed admiration for a book I wrote. Except I didn't write the book and when I Googled the title, no one else had either. I emailed the guy back: "What did you think of the book? 😉" That led him to admit that "someone used ChatGPT" and it gave a bio for me with this invented piece of information. The guy was embarrassed but I found it fascinating. ChatGPT hasn't learned how to tell the truth but it has learned plausibility. Beware, early adopters!

Yesterday we published our 2022 Financial Report. When people saw Thunderbird raised $6.4M in 2022 from donations, one question was asked frequently: "Do you have mega-donors?"

Nope. We just have awesome people 💙

Some stats we didn't publish in the report:

-We had 76 donations that were $500 or above, which is less than 1% of total donations.

-95% of our donations were less than $100.

-The largest donation was €3000.

-Our average donation amount $15.78.

Today I am tremendously grateful for the 300K donors who gave a record-breaking amount to the @thunderbird Project in 2022.

And I'm tremendously thankful to be part of such an incredible #OpenSource project. One that is undoubtedly thriving, when only a few years ago its existence was in question.

Dels är det taskigt att kalla någon ful och gammal. Sånt säger man bara till någon man verkligen känner.

Dels _ska_ kungar vara lite bortkomna — det har jag lärt mig genom observation. Och ärligt talat skulle jag också inta samma stämning i motsvarande situation.

Men framförallt fokuserar man på fel frågor. Är det verkligen rimligt att någon _ärver_ rollen som statsöverhuvud?
