@silmathoron Yes, Byzantium. It needs patches in kernel, Mesa and Android image though - but nothing too weird or hacky, so hopefully this will work out-of-box in a not so distant future :)

Personally IMO the linux mobile ecosystem should just ditch Anbox and waydroid, stop spending resources trying to bridge those two worlds and focus on making good mainlinux linux mobile ready apps.

But I will admit that I may be a strange person and my use cases might be different from others :)

@joao @dos @silmathoron I would argue that virtual machines have been nothing but a net good for computing. Choice is what made computing what it is today, and artificially limiting capacities or capabilities serves nothing but agendas. Furthermore, android as a platform represents a vast software library that is continuously funded and increasing.
I'm very grateful for waydroid and Dos' efforts to get it working on the L5. 👍👍

I agree. To me this sort of thing also provides peace of mind. I've been seeing more and more expectation that one has a smartphone, and thus the ability to run android or iOS apps.

I'm concerned that some day when traveling I'll run into a circumstance where I need to have some app running on my phone to do something.

Thus having the capability to run an andriod app gives some piece of mind in that area. Even if I don't have any need right now.
