#vulkan coming to a #halium phone near you! Looks like the #FuriLabs and #UbuntuTouch folks have been hard at work getting vulkan to a usable state.

This opens up all the #wayland vulkan applications that seem to have problems related to GLES.

Should be enabled soon:tm: to the general audience, do note it only works with wayland and not x11.

Here's a short video of the #FLX1 running vkcube and godot benchmarks all running in vulkan!

Little project I've been working on for the past two days. A reverse engineered implementation of the Android Auto server, running on my OnePlus 6 with PostmarketOS. The implementation is incredibly basic, only has basic video, but it's enough to display Sway and firefox :D

Next major step is getting it to work on a "proper" headunit. It works with my generic Chinese portable Android Auto / CarPlay screen but on a proper Toyota headunit inside a 2019 Toyota Aygo it fails somewhere along the way on the authentication chain.

California's Age Verification Law May End Up Exempting Most Linux Distributions

While not as good as repealing AB 1043 outright for requiring operating system providers to ask for a user's age or birth date at device setup, open-source Linux distributions and other open-source OSes may end up seeing some reprieve before this law goes into effect at the start of 2027...

Better late than never: PureOS 11 (crimson) is finally out, catching up with Debian 12 (bookworm) just in time for when bullseye/byzantium lose their extended security support next month. If you're still on byzantium, update ASAP! It's a solid improvement over both byzantium and plain bookworm. 馃У

鉂楋笍The Dutch government wants emergency legislation to crack down on Russia鈥檚 shadow fleet in the North Sea, De Telegraaf reported. The plan would allow inspections, escorts to anchorages and, in extreme cases, seizure of falsely flagged ships carrying sanctioned Russian oil. #Netherlands

The new version of Millipixels, now in crimson-updates-proposed, significantly improves the way photos are developed by default. No need to develop the RAWs on your own to get rid of that greenish retro look anymore. Time to update and show off your cats on the fedi 馃樅

Congress could vote on the GUARD Act as soon as Thursday. This bill would force ID checks for everyone using AI tools and block teens from everyday internet use. Tell your reps to oppose it today: act.eff.org/action/tell-congre.

Too often, the maintainers who build, test, and operate open source software aren't part of standards development, even though these standards directly shape their work.

The result? A structural risk to our digital infrastructure, as standards can become more difficult to implement or misaligned with the public interest.

As you see all of these articles and posts celebrating mRNA cancer vaccines, remember that Trump and his merry band of deathbringers have been holding up authorization for mRNA vaccines because of a toxic mixture of RFK Jr鈥檚 generalized antivaccine nonsense, and Trump鈥檚 resentment over COVID policies.

Literally killing people for internet points.

Pipeline version 4.0.0 was released, overhauling downloading videos completely, and adding a history page. There were also many other changes done, which you can read about in the changelog.
Note that this release contains a breaking change for users of external video players. By default, Pipeline does not ship with the required permissions to spawn external programs anymore. You need to manually grant those permissions, as detailed in the preferences dialog of Pipeline.
