Yeahhhhhhh I see it too now. Jokes aside, this is appaling. They know they're not a state, right?
@kyle
Do they want a war with the machines!? Because that's how you get a war with the machines.

Did you end up making a choice?
Dear video game industry!
Nobody likes games with a 120-hour story mode, that's filled with 80 hours of the same, seemingly endlessly repeating side quests.
Nobody wants to pay for your crappy add-ons and digital loot.
Nobody is excited about the remaster of a five year old game.
Nobody cares for the 21st face-lift of FIFA.
Nobody...

I bet it's technically only a year but it takes them 3 years to push the update :P
Jokes aside, it is reassuring because my Note 9 is 2 year old now and I don't wanna invest in another device for a while.
Technology as it Should Be
"The power of control by Big-Tech in the app store is but a small example of exploitation of our digital lives. If you don’t control the software, the companies who wrote that software control you. You become a digital prisoner."

Definitely don't do Samsung then. I got my Android 10 update in the spring. They keep the security patches up to date but everything else is slow.
For "long term" support and fast updates a Pixel device would be the way to go I think.

Hey man, have you looked at other options? The LG Velvet coming to mind as a good "flagship killer". Quotes because those kinda don'T exist anymore. That being said, the mid-tier segment has a lot of good options right now. What's your main need? Camera, screen etc.?
On a side note, I really am looking into getting a Pinephone to toy with it, so cheap and I love my Pinebook Pro.
Oh and my Librem 5 shipped today :D

I've been watching a show called "Weird History" a lot in the past couple days. They have a series based around hygiene in different eras.
The parallels with the current pandemic are quite staggering. What people didn't know in the past killed a great many of them and it is happening again.
We are better equipped today than we ever were but it seems that we are having a hard time agreeing on a way to curb the spread of Covid-19. Wilful ignorance isn't helping either.
If my brother and I even had a slightly more genderneutral upbringing
- instead of being constantly bombarded with "girls are good in languages and bad at math, while boys are good at abstract thinking (??) and working with their hands" nonsense -
then there's a good chance that I would have moved towards #engineering and my brother towards anything but construction. Alas, he got a technical degree and now hates his job, and I got a uni degree and now look up #woodworking in my free time. 🤷
