And CS is such a big field that no one can know everything, so even the ones that are very advanced will feel like a newbie once venturing out in a new field (even if that is just a stupid, little, horrible documented Java-Script-library).

Some only say that those which implement the ActivityPub-Protocol (the basis of Mastodon) are the Fediverse, some include other services as well, like GNU social or even Matrix.
