davfs mounts stopped working on laptop after some package upgrade recently -- "ls: reading directory 'mountpoint': Invalid argument", ie EINVAL.
FUSE_READDIR => "RET: Invalid argument" while FUSE_READ, FUSE_LOOKUP and more kept working fine.
Showed to be kernel changes in 6.16 causing this and that setting buf_size 64 in davfs2.conf is fixing the issue.
The second (and in my opinion, much more insidious and dangerous) task that LLMs are optimized to perform is to give the user the _impression_ of being useful.
A lot of times it does this by actually being useful, but that's purely accidental and incidental. It's only goal is to make you *think* it did something useful, and by any means.
That's why ChatGPT "hallucinates" facts; truth is irrelevant, only the _appearance_ of truth matters. A simulacrum of truth can be just as convincing.

People like to talk about LLMs as if they are a dramatic deviation from previous "AI" systems like AlphaGo. Those so-called "expert systems" have been trained and optimized to perform a single (or a few) well-defined tasks, while something like ChatGPT can "do anything". But that's a lie. ChatGPT and similar systems are just as focused and optimized on specific tasks.
The most obvious is to use language in a way that's as indistinguishable from a human as possible. To talk like a person.

Looking to leave GitHub?
Try Codeberg — it's Git, but based in Germany (Europe), without all of Microsoft's nonsense. They're also on the Fediverse: @Codeberg.
But wait — it gets better!
Codeberg is open source, and you can even host your own instance. The software is called Forgejo, built by the same folks behind Codeberg, and they're on the Fediverse too: @forgejo.

There... Github has been replaced with locally hosted Gitea.
Why didn't I do this sooner? @gitea
Will you be adding the possibility for monthly/recurring donations?
Today marks 30 years since the premiere of 'Xena: Warrior Princess' back in 1995. A show that was never ashamed of its campiness, but at the same time managed to be groundbreaking on multiple levels. Setting new standards for female action heroines, featuring a main character that was messy and flawed, physically strong and athletic, who started as a villain seeking redemption.
Xena, despite its cheesiness and often ridiculous premise, succeeded in pushing the boundaries of queer representation, challenged stereotypes, defied several of the sexist tropes of '90s media, explored LGBTQIA+ themes, even themes of gender identity, and made a clear statement against the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS at the time.
It may not be a flawless masterpiece, but it's a beloved cult classic for good reason.

Hey @hyc in this Monero Talk episode from a few days ago, Doug is begging for you to come back on his show and talk about what's been going on recently. What do you think? I'd be listening for sure! 🙂 https://www.monerotalk.live/monerotalk-360 (jump to about 51-52 minutes into the episode to find the part where he mentions you)
Since the Tornado Cash case has been in the news again lately, this older post by @molly0xfff popped up again. It's a pretty well considered article, but for the glaring omission of any mention of #Monero, still the gold standard in financial privacy. https://www.citationneeded.news/tornado-cash/
On the 51% attack on #Monero, @molly0xfff delivers context. As she always does when it comes to topics like this. Thank you, Molly! https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com/?id=monero-51-attack
I herd something strange in the woods. Looked and then there it was, just 3-4 meters away.
