I would like the feeling to be "wow, now I Just learned how to use an if-statement! And I can nest them! Wow, I can do so much with this!"

Having said that, I will look closer at Scratch and Snap and similar. Admittedly, I don't know them and it's very possible that I was above just arguing against them to avoid having to learn something new myself. 🙂

Scratch and Snap are interesting but there is something making me skeptical to things with lots of graphics. Very possible that this is just me being old-fashioned but my feeling is anyway that, I fear that too much "wow, cool colourful explosions on my screen, I want more of that!" risks taking focus from the programming itself.

I mean, programming is not actually about graphics.

Suppose that a child, about 10 years old, is about to start playing around with programming. Which language would be good to start with? Please explain why in comments.

@akenyg Jag tror du har rätt i att det ofta är för mycket funktioner.

Just forum där frågor kan ställas och där lärare faktiskt svarar, är väl en av få saker som det borde fokuseras på. För lärare kan det spara mycket tid att kunna svara på frågor i forum-format där diskussionen blir synlig för alla studenter istället för att behöva svara på samma sak många gånger när flera studenter mejlar liknande frågor.

Hare is one way:

Step 1: Post something that people may find interesting or funny or important

Step 2: Make a brilliant reply to a post by person X who has many followers

Step 3: Others who follow X will then see your reply, they will check who you are, then they see your interesting posts and they decide to follow you

Once you already have some followers, an easier way is that they boost your posts, so others find you.

Good idea, should be fine if the purpose is like cash, for transactions, it's anyway not meant for storing value over long time.

The central bank could then detect if some money has been lost (due to such timeout), and re-issue that amount if desired.

I agree that it would be possible to destroy cash, but why would anyone want to do that, to destroy cash that you yourself own and presumably worked hard for? Is that really a problem in practice?

Of course such a system would not be a true "digital currency" since it is just a kind of extension of the existing currency. But it could be useful. Not for a true escape from the centrally controlled current financial system, but as a way of doing digital payments. The central bank would have a hard time blocking anyone because even though they see transactions happening, they would not know who is who.

A transaction where A gives a coin to B would then be handled by A creating a digitally signed message saying "the new owner of this coin is now this public key", specifying the public key of B. The central bank registers this transaction and B can verify that their public key is really registered as owning the coin. The central bank will not know who B is, it would only store a pub key without knowing who has the private key.

It would be technically pretty easy, I think, to setup an official digital system that is just another form of the regular currency, like pounds sterling, where the system only kept track of "who owns this coin?" in terms of a public key without knowing or caring about the identity of the key holder.
