The existence of seach engines (like Altavista, Yahoo search, Google search, etc) was good for creators like someone writing on a blog, because the search engnes helped other people find your blog.

In contrast, ChatGPT et al are really bad for you because "OpenAI" will copy what you have written and give it to users as if "OpenAI" had created it. Why write a blog when nobody will read it?

Yes, that's what I use currently on my #Librem5 phone, however it's a bit awkward, not very well adapted to the small screen. Also, because Signal Desktop does not work as a "main device" for Signal, I have to have some other device also. The way I solved that for the moment (being an anti-android fundamentalist) is to run signal-cli on a #postmarketOS device, that works as my "main device" for Signal.

That's not specific enough. If it's "public domain", "do whatever you want with this and no attribution required", then sure, use it for whatever.

But if it's a license that requires attribution, like the CC licenses, then it's wrong to "train" so-called "AI" systems on that, because what they will do is to throw away the info about who the author was, and then generate "new" things as if they were "authored" by the "AI" system.

It would be great if Signal could become more friendly to those and not assume that everyone must use Andriod or iOS. Andriod or iOS are things of the past, we need to move away from those towards alternatives that put the user's freedom and privacy front and center.
