@hjartberg Är det inte sant alltså? Kan du förklara?
When I placed my order, in Oct 2020, the order details said "Pre-order, estimated to ship Dec 10, 2020". Then for a while my order was "estimated to ship on Feb 15, 2021". Then it was "estimated to ship on Apr 15, 2021". Then "estimated to ship on Apr 18, 2021".
I think you mentioned at some point that you don't control how the crowdsupply thing works, but this is still a problem.

@mntmn Thanks!
When I said "speed up" that was a joke, but it's also a little bit serious. The serious part: looking at the crowdsupply page today, it says "Orders placed now ship Jun 18, 2021." So you would need to speed up if you were to meet the expectation created by the date of the crowdsupply page.

I don't want to stress you or anything, but please speed up 😉
I appreciate all the updates on this, it's a very interesting project.
My order was in October 2020, does that mean there are still many ahead of me in the queue? Any way to get a rough estimate of when it might ship?
Also, is there any chance a new order placed now could be shipped in time for being a Christmas gift?
Happy 32nd birthday to GNU Bash! We're proud to have played a role in its long-running history, and to celebrate it on its birthday.. bash! https://gnu.org/s/bash
Yes!
But how would you define it, what kind of coding?
In Sweden, programming is mentioned in the "läroplan" nowadays as part of the math and "teknik" subjects, but it's not clear yet what it should mean in practice. Some math teachers teach some python coding, I tried that as well when I was a teacher, tried to teach the kids about things like variables and loops and so on, but I was not sure where to start..
How would you do it?
How would you formulate goals?

For the software developers out there: let's remember that #Microsoft owns #github so if you rely on some code hosted on github then this is your problem as well. Don't think that you are not involved. We are all involved.
#Microsoft and other big tech companies have too much power in the world. Work towards reducing their power and empower individuals instead.
I think the combination of the following two things can explain it:
(1) There is unfortunately not much high-quality journalism going on at all nowadays, about any subject. The few journalists who are in a position to do good work need to write about "big" topics.
(2) The topic "GNU/Linux" is unfortunately not big enough, most people (including journalists themselves) don't understand what GNU/Linux is, or what software freedom means.
I hope both of the above will change. 🙂

Hello again 🙂
You certainly seem more principled than those who never answered, I'll give you that.
However, I did get the impression that you considered it okay to use false/misleading sources, you seemed to prioritize "winning" and getting a strong impact over being fair and correct.
I would expect someone principled to agree that it's very important to be fair and correct when attacking another person like the open letter does.
When you are attacking another person and using something false as a basis for that, you are doing something wrong. If you did that by mistake you should take it back and apologize.
If you will not apologize after doing something as bad as that, then please, at least do not call yourself "principled".
One exception is Michael Meeks who does seem principled: https://people.gnome.org/~michael/blog/2021-04-12-excommunicating.html

That post about "The GNOME Way", saying "GNOME is principled"... I understand that was written in 2017 so it was before the open letter, but now, today, do you really think that "GNOME is principled" is a reasonable statement?
For me "The GNOME Way" seems pretty far from being principled.

I'm sorry but this does not seem right. "GNOME is principled"?
The GNOME Foundation, along with many GNOME-affiliated people, signed the open letter to "remove RMS", a harsh personal attack citing misleading sources. When this is pointed out to them, they do not apologize, they do not retract, mostly they just look the other way and pretend like nothing.

I had one of those printer experiences myself recently, when an HP printer was out of ink and because of that (?!?) refused to let me scan a document. Arrrgh, proper righteous rage against that machine!

I worry that when Google does something like this, their goal is to increase their own power in the world. Google already has way too much power, in a way that is really dangerous.
Let's put our efforts into things that take power away from Google/Apple/Microsoft/etc and give more power to individual people instead.
Inga bra anledningar tror jag tyvärr, mest att Signal vill bevara sin egen maktposition. I alla fall om man får tro Drew DeVault som brukar veta vad han pratar om: https://drewdevault.com/2018/08/08/Signal.html
But how do you add it in your profile? You type :gnu: as part of your "Display name", or you add it somewhere else?

Apparently it can be different for different Mastodon instances.
