US folks, please call your representatives and ask them to support H.R.4728, the Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act. In fact, ask them to cosponsor it.
A good video looking at the carbon impacts of meat. I rarely eat meat because of the sustainability issues. 26% of carbon emissions is from farming and I feel this is the only industry we cannot just switch to a carbon neutral version. It requires personal change 😔
Is Meat Really That Bad?

For #GivingTuesday, we share with you an update on the #copyleft lawsuit regarding #Vizio's ongoing GPL violations: https://sfconservancy.org/blog/2021/nov/30/vizio-update-0/
Vizio's strategy is to deny consumers their rights under the #GPL and #LGPL!

Unpopular opinion: One should never call themselves an expat. Sure, it used to have a specific meaning, but nowadays, its meaning is just "privileged (white) immigrant".
Ever since I moved to Berlin, I made a point to call myself an immigrant, and it was surprising how many low-key racists got confused by that, as they preferred to call white immigrants expats to differentiate that from "the bad ones".
Note, you're not bad for calling yourself an expat, but it's worth a reevaluation.
Dear doubters, it is now 10 months of global vaccination. More than 6 billion doses have been administered. We know about all the common and rare side effects. #GetVaccinated. It is safe. And it stops the pandemic. Please do your part, just as billions have already done.

This is a terrible idea! Peak #surveillanceCapitalism If it happens health insurers will be next. https://thedriven.io/2021/10/08/tesla-insurance-will-change-the-way-you-think-about-driving/
On the plus it's good to have a lot of information in the 'same place' and in a standard manor. I'm guessing that's why the UI/UX has not been improved over the decades.
Not all #hydrogen is the same, we are only allowed Green Hydrogen. https://reneweconomy.com.au/study-finds-blue-hydrogen-worse-for-climate-than-burning-coal-or-gas/ #climateChange
The future of food: Can you eat to save the climate?
From complex labels to opaque sourcing and unclear carbon impact, consumers find it hard to know if their food choices are environmentally sustainable.
I used to just recycle, but since learning how few plastics actually get recycled, I've reduced my single-use plastic consumption by:
🐋 Switching to shampoo and conditioner bars instead of bottled, and from shower gel to bar soap (like we all used as kids)
🐟 Using glass containers and a set of stretchy silicone covers that fit over my bowls for leftovers instead of plastic wrap in the kitchen
🌱 Using reusable silicone bags instead of disposable plastic ones
🐢 Bringing my own stainless steel bottle or cup if I'm getting a drink outside of my home
🦀 Carrying a set of bamboo utensils for takeout (and choosing places with compostable takeout containers)
🌊 Using stainless steel straws or no straw instead of plastic
🐚 Buying produce without wrapping (farmer's markets are great in summer) & bringing my own containers for spices in bulk
I'd like to give a 👎 to Whole Foods, which sells in bulk but makes you use their plastic bag or container. Guess where I don't buy in bulk!
