The word 'homeowner' has the word 'meow' in it.
Good luck pronouncing it correctly ever again.

@clacke inventing or discovering they were there all along?

@fendoZ@aus.social @devinprater wow I hope it's not in cash or investments! NGOs I was part of in Australia are not allowed to keep cash, we had to spend it.
We were also volunteers. If they had housing they could sell them and build centres around the country or world (no loan repayments or rent). If their money starts drying up they could reduce their staff, programs and rely on volunteers to run the centres they own. These details should be in public reports!

@mikeburns@mastodon.technology @nolan This sounds helpful. I had to work from home today and spent 4 hours downloading, setting up, and troubleshooting my dev environment. But having a virtual image I can copy off the work server would be 100 times better. I could set this up but a key piece of software does not work on Linux 😔

@Mek101 @alcinnz could we federate the bug trackers so it's a two way street and information flows with less friction?

@loke @AkuAnakTimur my phone has curved corners and it is so annoying.

i read a thing recently that blew my mind a little.
went something like:

people can imagine time travel to the past and one little act making massive differences in the timeline

but in their present they think even the greatest effort they can put in will not make any difference to the future

@devinprater I need my administrator to update the instance so I can join the room. Hopefully soon or I'll have to create another account.

@devrtz yeah I've seen a few nightly flatpaks. So if people want the latest they should follow the steps to build the development version to test and they are fully in control of the process, not some community packager.

I found a new game. Three tries to locate the daily satellite view on an OpenStreetMap based map.
🗺️ Daily Challenge 5.6.2022
TOTAL POINTS 91/100 (944,63km off, 0m search radius)
s2maps.eu/eo-guesser/
I also enjoy planing worldle and contributing to OSM, so it's up my alley.

@devrtz so true. (as a newbie) I wonder if there are nightly builds people (not maintainers) can opt into to get these 'new features' and WIPs?
Or would that be too much of a hassle for developers of core components?

@barclakj @natecull I'm new to tech (computer science student) and it sounds like web3 and cryptocurrencies/blockchains are the modern day equivalent.

@marauder @chaosexanima but I do agree with everything you want, we just need to understand what fedi is and not is, and sadly it is not any more private then Twitter.

@marauder @chaosexanima fedi is not private and if you are not already being mined then no one thought of us as valuable ... yet.
