Naja, PCs: Purism, System76, Tuxedo-Computers.
Smartphones: PinePhone, Purism Librem 5, /e/ Foundation, ...

I love it (sry :) )
"When needed" is the default. But "Always" has advantages, e.g. double click in the empty space to open a new tab (just like in Firefox or Dolphin), or right-click the tab to adapt it.
I wonder though, if someone would opt for "never", then goes fullscreen without menubar to get the real terminal feeling 🤔
I get it, it can be overwhelming. But having sane defaults and the ability to have it your way is nice :)

That sounds pretty good. Perhaps some "whitelisting" mechanism would make sense. Simplest way would be to remember the sites you opened in regular mode.
Problem: Some obnoxious sites now tell you to leave private mode to read an article.
So, an ephemeral, untrusted profile that is cleared on closing the tab, might be a useful addition to private mode.

Don't you think it's a bit too ironic for a privacy initiative to host zoom meetings 🤔

Haha :D
Finally, the "app overview" on https://alpha.linuxphoneapps.org/apps/ should be at least slightly more useful. #LinuxPhoneApps
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Users of Element Desktop/Web/Android, FluffyChat & Nheko should upgrade immediately to address a critical encryption vulnerability.
We are not aware of this being exploited in the wild yet, but as the bug is now disclosed please upgrade now. https://matrix.org/blog/2021/09/13/vulnerability-disclosure-key-sharing

A long time ago I decided to only buy printers with a LAN interface. Implications:
* support all OSes, without the need for any driver installation (PCL/PS)
* easily usable from all devices in your house
* usually decent, enterprise grade, no consumer BS
Also, maybe check for a cheap laser printer, that possibly even permits 3rd party refills (Lexmark cs310dn for me currently)

The story might sound less convincing with Rust, but as a C++ dev I'm not sure I'd consider it clean. 😎
"I'll do it... but on one condition."
"What? Anything! The fate of the Free World is at stake!"
"We do it *my* way. 100% C++, no libraries, -j 1... we go in clean and come out hard. And if I see ONE goddamn line of #PHP or #Javascript, this whole deal's OFF!"
"You're a madman!"
"Maybe I am... but I'm the madman who can save the Presidents life, so... what's it gunna be?"
"This is crazy, I tell you. Crazy!... But dammit... fine."
"Oh and I use #Arch by the way."
"I find the juxtaposition of people arguing that the market will generally result in products being good while they themselves buy overpriced garbage to be deliciously ironic"

This article, while more about ELF than about linking, might provide useful insight - and teach you how to create the smallest possible executable (45 Bytes)

On missing symbols: By default, if you ln main foo bar, they are linked in that order. Only the symbols of foo that are referenced in main will be used. If bar only references symbols that main also references, it will still work. But if bar references additional foo symbols, they stay missing.
