@theprivacyfoundation I would love something like that! I sometimes search for software at https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Main_Page but they are not really ranking, it seems like more of a very narrow curated list of foss (glpv3 i think?) apps that the fsf says respect your "four freedoms". Cant say if its fair though. Ranking would be good for finding the lesser of two evils when you can't afford to be idealistically pure.

@dansup About federation: Will there be a page where you can discover images from other pixelfed instances? That would be really nice and I think necessary for it to feel truly federated.

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at Yes works for me as well, but only when you type the exact url (including the https://). I hope that there will be a more human friendly search functionality in the future (not for me I love the hoops of course but for my friends :) ).

I have started to collect unique shops and coffee shops. Those that have not been replaced by some big franchise or chain store. They should not be allowed to spread unrestrained. Just leave the small local businesses alone. I don't really want to get active politically right now, but I have decided to spend more time on these places. Because I'm worth it.
