TIL that the scp command does not, by default, compress files it transfers, and that you need to add the -C flag to make it do that, and by doing that I have sped up my transfer speed about 40x, and without this knowledge I have probably wasted literally days of my life waiting for things in the past.

During the end of last week:
— Russia lost 4 expensive military aircraft over Russian territory.
— Multiple fires broke out in Moscow
— Ukraine started eliminating distant Russian bases using the UK long range Storm Shadow missile and American decoy missiles.
— Ukraine took back territories both north and south of Bakhmut.
— Switzerland removed their ban on other countries sending swiss made weapons to Ukraine.
— Germany increased their military aid to Ukraine significantly.
