At the end of the day, they all get the job done and do it well enough, but `vi` and it's forks have existed for 46 years with no sign of ever going away. I too would be interested to know what distro has replaced `vi(m)` for the relatively younger (released 23 years ago) `nano`.
@jc @nixCraft I don't think I've ever in my life used a distribution that didn't have vi installed in the base packages. Let alone one that replaced it with nano.
What systems are these?
