@ernie If #ElonMusk so much as sneezed in the direction of @purism, there could be a large shift of attention (and perhaps funding) for #Linux-based phones and #TechConvergence, diminishing the need to construct yet another app ecosystem/marketplace.
@jc@purism I guess the question to ask is, would that sort of attention be desired? It seems to me that there would be a real threat of one prominent voice overwhelming the existing work done thus far. The answer could conceivably be yes, but I think it’s reasonable to ask given how quickly this could stop being a theoretical.
@ernie@purism This is largely under the assumption that he has the ability to play well with others, which has obviously been objectively false. The dream of solidarity and cooperation lives on.
@jc@purism@todd That is a CEO with a very strong understanding of why his company exists. Didn’t even need to reply directly to the ask to make his point clear—simply needed to point to his articles of incorporation. Good stuff.
