Just a reminder that the @mobian repo, image downloads and website arr still down due to a hardware issue. There are backups of everything but the bring up is taking longer than expected.

Had we known it takes this long, we would have provided a temporary solution. Sorry, but we'll be back! 💪

@mobian Can't access your trixie repos using apt on a librem 5, states connection refused. Can't access your servers at all e.g. mobian-project.org/ using a browser. Why is it blocking my access, or are the servers down?

Mobian trixie repositories do not update using apt, states connection refused. Additionally I cannot even access the website mobian-project.org/

I can access all other websites no problem and traceroute shows I can ping the server. Not sure where Mobian actually has a blog to report these bugs.

Windows: Literally gets backdoors injected in by the FBI and distributed to every single copy being executed in production in every system on the planet, and they're not only not removed, but INTENTIONALLY ALLOWED FOR YEARS nothing happens, everyone just continues to use Windows.
Linux: little cheeky mf commits a backdoor, gets removed before it even makes it to production it's the fucking end of the world, open source software is doomed etc etc...

@stu We're getting there. I tend to forget how far along #linuxonmobile already came. #phosh is doing a great job (Thank you, #Purism!) and many #Gnome apps already work well on the mobile screen. Kudos to all who made #linuxonmobile what it is today! Amazing!

My saturday #FreeCAD project: A completely parametric 2-piece frame assembly to hold Wiremesh in order to close holes in the walls where rodents are entering, while keeping airflow possible (as it's the basment room that has our central heater).

The frame will be glued into the hole using silicone or similar

Happy Trans* Day of Visibility!

Trans people are mappers, and hackers, and cartographers, and have always been a part of the OpenStreetMap community.

The OpenStreetMap project is creating a freely licenced map of the world, based on how things actually are, based on how they act, and appear, not based on what some government says. OSM is trans positive.

Before folks start railing on open source - let’s not forget there are plenty of examples of undocumented backdoors in proprietary commercial products too, the Boeing 737 Max 9 for example

For those of you curious this is what the #pinephonepro camera looks like with my autofocus #libcamera and that new driver. This was late at night with only my room light on so it is still pretty noisy but it looks decent enough.

upstreaming imx258 driver work continues! Its my first attempt at upstreaming anything to the #linux kernel and even submitting patches via a mail list so its been a learning experience for me and a rough one at that but soon the #pinephonepro will be able to use a mainline camera driver and get something useful out of it and will greatly improve #libcamera support since even downstream was missing lots for it.

I am ecstatic to announce that I'm starting work with MNT Research in #Berlin! I just got confirmation that my visa was approved and can start work April 1st (not a joke)! Thanks to @mntmn, @theawesomerandomness, @holo_memory, @plom and the whole community for giving me this incredible opportunity, I couldn't be more excited!
