How funny is that: cross-compiled the first time. Kernel for my #Librem5 is working. I'll have to see if a merge request to include btusb by default is accepted in its repo...
Yes, I'm writing about it from time to time.
BTW: it's not a field test "trial". It is my smartphone already and there's no way back for me to Android. Will not start using Apple stuff neither.
What I'm missing are a tablet and an ebook to run the same software stack.
@chrichri What made you choosing for the Librem?
I like the work of @purism for the whole ecosystem of linux phones. I'm used to #Debian and #PureOS is a Debian without closed sourced blobs.
I do own a #Pinephone running #Mobian, also, which mainly uses my son.
By buying and using the #Librem5 and a #Librem14 I try to support the effort of Purism as good as I can.
If you look at the code that is upstreamed by #Purism to #linux and #gnome you know what you support by buying there hardware.
@chrichri I'm looking for a good Linux phone. I think I'll swap to a Linux phone when the current phone (iPhone 7) is outdated 💪
The Librem phones look great, but are rather expensive. The Volla phone with Ubuntu are cheaper and might also be usable.
